damn. i was close.

I think it's fair to question the canadiens drafting methods.

It is true that the canadiens didn't draft super-well....but at the same time it was not a complete disaster either and it is a nostradamus discipline, in some way.

that said, taking into account that some drafts are more deep than other, one would expect that , for example a top-15 pick would be a regular in the NHL (say 500+ matches). I have not calculated anything, but i must not be that far statistically.

And the closer you get to the first pick, the less you have the right to pick wrongly.

if we take the 1rst round picks only by the canadiens, for instance and as mean of measure, we can say the performance in like a roller coaster. Hopefully, from the Juulsen pick year, the habs will be on the top part of the ride. if those picks don,t turn out to well, then it means more free agencies, with everything that comes with it.

The only player that Montreal has drafted that has made any type of mark in the NHL since the current regime took over (8 years ago?) is Segachev. We're hoping Kotkaniemi will be next. While Galyenchuk may qualify he was certainly a disappointment as a #3 pick.
