For you is it one knee or both? And ACL only or MCL, PCL, LCL? I sadly speak from multiple experiences

I don't see how Romanov compares to Subban.

Maybe the tsar skates as well as PK, but mete also has good skating abilities.

maybe emelin is a better comparison....?

As was stated in the blog, the comparison is in regards to their enthusiasm and energy they bring to the game, team and fans. Karine specifically points out the difference in their games from the offensive standpoint

Gallagher, Kulak also brings enthusiasm and energy...why the focus on Subban? that is my questionning... maybe i'm in the potatoes, but so be it if i am. Don't want to ruin anybody's day

Sorry wasn't trying to be a Richard just literally pointing out the stated reasons why the comparison was made. For my money I'd prefer Romanov be different than PK in most ways but that's another debate

yes PK was annoying, i would assume, for a number of players.

But on the ice, if Romanov could have the quick hands of subban with the physical aspect, i would be pleased. but that remains to be seen. He was not a stand out in the KHL, if i am not mistaken and the NHL is tougher than anything he was confronted to yet and i'm not sure he will be an offensive player with the canadiens.

I actually hope he will have the impact of Subban, on the ice, but for me he is not there yet. that is all...

Its interesting and unfortunate to see how the local media are over-hyping this player. A good and youthful European defenseman is usually suited to a year or two in the minors. Romanov will encounter challenges adapting to the smaller surface and quicker forecheck. [There is more time and space available in the European defensive end]

Like many recent prospects in Montreal, his development is scheduled to be hampered by being rushed into the NHL. Unfortunately there may be few other suitable options at this time as Covid has impacted lesser leagues and the Habs, while only a fringe playoff team, are in a rush to compete with Price and Weber in decline.

Unfortunately, rather than being properly trained to make effective break-out plays on the smaller ice, it is likely the Habs will be forced have him move the puck to his partner for the breakout. If he is able to do this it will be a successful first season. Hopefully, fans do not turn against him when he is not the Norris contender. The media may be inadvertently doing this player a real disservice.

Look at all those 70 point players he drafted. Top two C's come from trades. 5 of top 6 W from trade or FA. Top 4 D all from trade or FA. A blind squirrel finding a nut now and again is nothing to celebrate.

Doesn't matter how you get there, they've obviously made a stand to head into a more promising future! I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy watching this edition more than the ones in recent history.... I'm certainly going to wait to see what they do before I b!tch and moan about what they haven't done in the past

If somebody says in regards to Romanov that people complain about Timmins or whatever then it's only fair to point out the history. I like the roster today but it's clearly more from trade and FA than draft so I'm not going to credit Timmins for his long term track record, even if I still have a lot of hope for the current prospect pool

It’s been two years since he was drafter and has played in a professional league before in the KHL, I like their approach with him compared to Mete. And i have a feeling that it was part of the negotiations that he’d play in the NHL, otherwise he could have stayed in Russia and carried on earning the big bucks. In any case, i think his development is nowhere near as rushed as Mete was.
