The American slippery eel, European delicacy or North American enigma.

So "Big Bernie Tuna" and I decides to take "The Johnny Ringo" out in the Sound to troll for the American slippery eel. We know these are bottom feeders, so as with most prey we used salami as bait.

We got out into the deeper water with the tunes blasting and the best beer, Michelob flowing.

Bernie got a bite, not much fight in these, like shooting fish in a barrel. He brought it in, tasered it, and chopped the head off as it writhed around on deck doing the headless chicken dance it was a joy.

We caught 439 eels and smoked them all on the "Weber Smoker". A little potatoe, Heineken, what a feast.

Any one here enjoy US slippery eel ?
