He will impress and sounds like he is holding his own in camp.

Where does he fit though? Taxi squad I’m guessing.

I think taxi squad, but he gets his chance as soon as injuries hit. On the wing is my guess.

With a lack of centres, depthwise, he is an option.
With word that AHL is looking at anywhere from 24-42 games,it might be best to at least have him on the taxi squad.

I would have him battle Sutter and Gaudette for the 3rd line centre job, and if not he should be on the 29 man squad.

Any news from camp? I heard Dave Tomlinson on the radio this morning commenting on Podkolzin, I think he’s in the bubble in Edmonton covering the WJC.

#Canucks Day 2 scrimmage notes:
- Baertschi is working his ass off
- Hoglander looks like he belongs
- Rathbone is exciting, doesn’t look Hoglander-level ready yet
- Lotto Line is 3 practices from being ready for the season and already has chemistry with Schmidt.

Want to just add a couple depth items to this.

- He’s going to take time, but Will Lockwood has *wheels* and stood out at camp today. Will be interested to see how he fares in the AHL.
- Marc Michealis remains a fascinating dark horse for the taxi squad. Sneaky fast.

This season is not going to be your typical marathon, it will be a sprint, they will need the best possible mix of talent, readily available.

Yes. If Petey can improve in the dot you can always have Miller centre a line if injuries happen down the middle. Bo, Sutter, Gaudette and Beags. Which is why I think he's got a better chance cutting his teeth at wing.

I know I BS quite a bit on here but I can’t stress enough the jump to the NHL is huge compared to any other league. The strength & speed of players and defensive responsibilities of guys trying to earn spots is really difficult.

I truthfully haven’t seen him play much, like hardly at all, but I like that he’s from Saskatchewan, #1, that he’s an agitator, he has offensive upside and his skating has improved...from everything I’ve read.

I was filling in for him so that Reuby wouldn't feel ignored.

I would put Michealis and Graovac ahead of Lind at center also.

He is an option at centre though, as I wouldn't want to take Miller off that line unless Jake can fill in what Miller does for that fantastic duo.

Not seen or heard much of this kid but read he’s ahead of Grao on the depth chart.

I wouldn't doubt the transition between AHL and NHL, or any other league for that matter, just think Lind is close enough to be ready to challenge for a spot and even pra timing at that level will help him improve even more.

I'm really curious how he'd do with his own line. You're right though, not at the cost of losing the first line magic. He's too good on the wing with Petey.

I hadn't seen him also but seeing Benning only made three free agent signings up until now made me think they had to be high on the kid. (Holtby Michaelis Hawyrluk)

For sure Graovac. Almost forgot about him. Don't know enough about Michaelis. Do you put 2 C's on the taxi squad? Lind might have a leg up on Michaelis as a winger who can play some centre.

I don't think Lind has the leg up at all . That is meant as a good thing .Lind is right there and ready but the best thing for his game right now is more time in the AHL. Canucks are not pressured to rush him.

Although I have not seen Michaelis I have read things about him and knew he was brought in because his game is very close to NHL. Lind only played a handful of games at center so no way I bring him in as a center. I would bring him in to challenge Roussel next year.

That was something. Lets hope Spencer Knight gets lit up like Times Square tonight!
