The day of the inauguration is when you'll start hearing the Republicans talking about 'deficits' and 'debt' again. Two things they've conveniently been silent about for the last 4 years. Even before the pandemic, the deficit was increasing at historic levels.

Facts point out that the biggest increases to the deficit and debt in the last 50 years have been under gwb and DT.

But when facts get inconvenient, attack the messenger.

Yup the war president and the incompetent president. Republicans are only good at being the opposition - can’t depend on them to do anything productive unfortunately. Reasonable conservatives have been pushed out of the party.

Key for Dems will be to stop worrying/whining about the Republicans and just move forward. Step one is to improve the economy - roll out stimulus cheques, vaccine shots, and an infrastructure plan. That should get independents and reasonable conservatives on board and Dems can just put it on Republicans to oppose three things the general public really want. Need to force Republicans to oppose solid policy then they can pursue other goals.
