Ok, I'll start with a caveat: I think all politicians are power hungry, after that I don't have a description that's decent enough to write of them, and I mean all of them.

That said, sure they may go back, but then what is to stop a politican from using the precedent in the future for a lesser reason. I'm not willing to assume things like that when it comes to my freedom, that's why I question it. Once your freedom has been suspended for any reason it's only prudent to question what will happen to it in the future. The arbitrary nature with which these suspensions have been applied only amplifies that concern. Pro athletes but not amateur athletes, big box stores but not mom and pops, politician travel but not everyday person travel, etc. In the best of times I don't trust politicians, I'm certainly not willing to now

I guess you can describe me as a utopist, but unless an authoritarian regime is put in place, our democratic mechanisms should ensure that this kind of abuse doesn't take place. and I don't see for example how Legault is instrumentalizing the pandemic to his own advantage

This whole pandemic thing has made me do a very big social media cleanse, a lot of people who I thought were rational individuals weren’t so I deleted a whole bunch of them. I just don’t get how people can argue this is anything but a real virus and a real pandemic. I think anyone who knows someone who’s had it and is still suffering from the effects should be listened to. I mean both my parents had it and survived but my dad’s lungs are badly screwed...he still doesn’t breath normally and he has honestly aged 10 years...I can’t comprehend how some people don’t understand the seriousness of the situation.

It's as bad. Just look at the numbers in the US. Its going to spread no matter what measures you take. its the nature of the virus. the plan was to minimize it until a vaccine was developed. course, now you have all the anti-vaxxers who have no concept of the science behind this particular vaccine.

these people won't be happy until polio and measles make a savage return.

The warnings have been there for years, experts have known about the risk of bats and Coronaviruses for decades, lots of well informed people touched on that very subject in books, lectures and documentaries... they said it would happen, in this exact way, now that it has you're gonna question it? And again, because of shady YouTube videos and FB articles?

I'm not in Quebec so I wouldn't know too much beyond what makes national news. I think we went down a rabbit hole but long and short I get why the nut finds the situation unfair and I don't think highly of politicians

Yeah, should receive it Thursday. I rarely make impulsive buys like that but I've wanted a Master Sword + Hylian Shield to make myself a geek basement for a while. Hope it doesn't look too cheap (still paid it 130$ and it's in stainless steel + resin so it should be nice).

the anti-vaxxer movement started long before COVID. Its crazy. Polio was almost completely eradicated world wide and of late cases have popped up again. measles were well on the way to be eradicated but then you have the morons who un to expose their kid to someone with measles.
