Watching Berard, I am reminded of a young Brendan Gallagher. He is going to need to add 25 lbs of muscle in order to have a shot in the NHL, but I like his chances if he can.

Scheinder has been one of the few Canadians to show up. Of course the USA players have lots to do with that

Yeah, they are acting like a bunch of Finns!
Canada has come on some, but Knight has been flawless.

Well, that sucked.
Canada played like a team that never faced any adversity and the US like a team that was pushed to get there.

Definitely the better team tonight.
But, I was pretty frustrated with Canada’s play. Can’t try to play cute against another talented team. Sometimes we looked like we thought we were playing Austria.

Edit: admittedly the US had lots of influence on how Canada played. But, they rarely played a Canadian game tonight, other than being physical.

Agreed. Turcotte and York, too. Maybe Caufield. But, Zegras was on another level.
And Knight, well unfortunately for him, he will be relegated to about 25 starts a year until he's 27 years old! And Levi will be in the AHL. What a shambles Florida is.

Byram can (frank)ing fly. I thought he had a really good game. Hit the post on that one rush. Avalanche are gonna be so good

At the end of the day I think like you kind of alluded in a previous post. Canada had a pretty easy tourney and the US had to play hard to get to the medal round. It really looked like that was the difference. Canada definitely had way more skill but the US looked relentless.

They already are!!
Byram frustrated me with his lack of intensity, though. That sounds too harsh, but there's something about the way he pauses and holds the puck EVERY time. I felt like he missed quick-strike opportunities. I always felt the same about Doughty and Keith.
Definitely nit-picking, though!!

I didn't see the 3rd, I passed out. Did Canada play better in the third? They really picked it up about 1/2 way through the 2nd. I was surprised at the US in front of Knight. Any rebounds they quickly picked up, tied up sticks and were strong on their skates. Canada didn't have too many 2nd chances in the 1st two periods.

Knight must be excited to sit on the bench for the next 6 years watching Bob give up 5 goals a game
