Turned it over right inside the blue line. But US was relentless on the forecheck on that shift
- Chris16

They were. Leeman put that top line out after only one shift on the bench. And it worked

His line got pinned in its own zone.

He gets possession of the puck and try’s to skate it out instead and gets stripped. Canada gets trapped in their zone and the U.S scores.

- Pegullaville

US spent a long time in the zone. Yeah, I saw that turnover but to pin that goal on him is silly

If he chips the puck out the d-man that were on the ice for 3 minutes and the other forward get off the ice and they get fresh bodies on the ice.

That entire ensuing possession was all on Quinn

He’s too old to play in this tourney next year

His impact has been non existent for a 19 year old top 10 pick

I’m disappointed, and I like Quinn despite hating the pick

You might want to check on all those goalies in the OHL where he had the most goals in a draft year since Tavares. All that while also excelling defensively. But damn shouldn't he have like 10 goals by now in juniors while playing 12 minutes a game.

It's not that hard to understand man.

Rossi: Above .500 = 1.45ppg / Below .500 = 2.96ppg

Around 70% of Rossi's production came from lighting up bad teams. He underperformed against good teams.

Quinn's production was constant no matter who he was playing

Quinn: Above .500 =1.47 ppg / Below .500 = 1.55ppg

Evaluating players is a little bit more than just looking at a box score.

Alright I'll take this slow with you. Rossi's production went from a 2.96ppg to a 1.45ppg. That's a 1.51ppg DROP in production against good teams.

Quinn produced at a slightly higher rate than Rossi against good teams and only had a .08 drop in ppg compared to playing against bad teams.

We can also go over the WJC since such a small sample size is so important to you. Rossi has had 0 points in 4 games. Quinn has 5 points in 6 games. I know you're gonna say RoSsI wAs On A bAd TeAm DuDe, but Stutzle who's also on a bad team has 10 points in 5 games. Rossi continues the trend of underperforming against good teams.

How about we let Quinn mature another year or two before we right him off.
Ryan Johnson has impressed me, really turned a corner this year. See if he can put himself into the LD discussion next year.

- Buff36

Funny how last year, ppl were down on Johnson
But this year they think he looks good

I didn’t know players could work hard & get better

CF% isn't gonna tell the whole story man, especially with Quinn spending a lot of his time with Cozens when the other team has pulled the goalie. Of course they're gonna have more shots against. You're gonna need a lot more than looking at CF% to evaluate how a guy is playing, especially with the sample size on that Zary - Byfield line.

For the role he's been in I think he's been good. Nothing spectacular like Cozens, but not Michael Frolik of Canada as some have said.

Told the story on that first goal

you're right, it wasn't the greatest of moves, but newhook was in support, picked up the puck and didn't get it past the red line when he had some time and space

If we moved down and the Sabres picked quinn at 9 instead of 8, I'd love the guy. 😐

According the big bob mckenzie

Cozens and Quinn being flown to buffalo right after the game. Since flying on a private jet. They don’t have to quarantine and can practice right away.

Shouldn’t have ever gotten to that point.

However I do agree that it was also a bad play by Newhook on the follow up.
