Imma just get this out of the way now. You have Canada versus the US in the gold medal game, in Edmonton, with an all-Canadian officiating crew.
- buffalofan19

can that crew be any worse than the crew for the us/fin game?

I wish I could say that as a Canadian, that made me think we had an advantage.

It never works out that way. Something about the Canadian mentality - they bend over backwards to "prove" they are unbiased.

that is soooooo Canadian

I'm curious what people see in Asplund as he seems like a nothing player at this point.
- kingcong39

He doesn't excell in any particular area, and if you're going to be around for a while as a bottom-6 player you have to have one stand out trait

he was linked with olofsson the entire time in rochester together

in 2018-19 they were killing penalties together and learning to play the 200 foot game together, literally every shift

Girgensons absence will impact this

Now your PK forwards are Eakin, Lazar, Rieder, Sheahan and Eichel.

It would be really nice if they could take Tage aside and teach him how to use his exceptional reach on the PK. He can be a really nice 3rd liner on this team if he figures that out. They said during the scrimmage he actually grew another inch and now he's 6'7" which is absurd

Watching the scrimmage game I’d say Tage was easily one of the best players on the ice. He has tremendous upside. PK no but PP yes

He looked really good. I still think his ceiling is a 15g 20a PP2 3rd liner but he can have a nice, long career in this league especially if he could use his reach on the PK. He has an advantage there that 95% of the league doesn't have. He just needs someone who can teach him. His size is a gift if he leverages it properly.

It’s really that simple
Either focus on your supposed negative,
or be hopeful about the future

Easy choice for me

Dude you called him the Michael Frolik of Team Canada. He's made great plays every game. One of the best defensive forwards on Canada and a really underrated playmaker. I get you wanted someone else in the draft, but it seems you're just poopting on him to poop on him.

I wonder how you'd be treating Rossi right now if we drafted him with his big disappearing act in the tournament.

You could very well be right. He looked bigger, stronger and definitely stood out.

His line got pinned in its own zone.

He gets possession of the puck and try’s to skate it out instead and gets stripped. Canada gets trapped in their zone and the U.S scores.
