As much as we all love the "(frank) you" story that the Josh Allen has become, I still believe he will turn out to be the exception rather than the rule.

In football and for QB’s, yes 100%. For hockey, its a crapshoot after 5 usually. Guess it just gives us something to b*tch and moan about for the next two years till one or both see playing time

Sure, mainly because teams ignore statistics and draft based on height and intangibles and other dumb things

Oh god the Allen comparison.

Would we all feel better if McBean called the soccer coach and told him to pick Quinny poo? Hes pretty good picking the underdogs.....

Right, except no one said this, so if this is your overall point I don't know who you're responding to.

As of now, based on who was on the board, Quinn was a reach over Lundell or Rossi, or even Perfetti.

With the exception of Rossi being on a high school team and by himself and being unfair to judge, both Lundell and Perfetti have been better, Lundell by a a lot.

And Quinn isn't really that young. He's 19 years old.

It's dissapointing that he very well could go an entire 7 game tournament without a single goal on an opposing goalie when we drafted him to be a goal scorer.

If you don't see any red flags yet, more power to you

Right. The better player today isn't automatically the better prospect.

My mindset is basically, I didn't like the pick and he's done zip to change my mind yet in his first big opportunity. Hopefully he's great.

But what I think doesn't matter

You're right.

Byfield is an example. He's been almost invisible for a top 3 pick outside of one game

But usually there are reasons, and they at least show flashes (Like a 6 point game)

Byfield would've been 17 when drafted had it taken place in June. He's one of the youngest guys in the tourney.

Quinn is not one of the youngest, and hasn't shown any flashes really. What are we missing?

It'll just go to IR. No reason to utilize LTIR.

They won't use LTIR until they run out of space for replacements, probably take 5 injuries. Hate to say it, but there's a potential overage again next year.

It almost has to be the MassMutual Division. They're headquartered near Boston.

The Kraken will be the first team in NHL history to begin its inaugural season with bonus overages on its cap (e4).

That would be a great rule, the overage goes to the GM, not the team.

Jason Botteril named AGM for Seattle. Quick, let’s take advantage of his CTE and fleece him ina. Trade. Girgensons for a first.

It's the new bad GM who likes Girgensons.

The old bad GM, and the bad GM before him, and the bad one before him liked Risto, so maybe we trade Risto there, although the new bad GM might also like Risto.

Pegula must be happy he only has to pay part of botts salary. I believe the Sabres pay him Sabres salary - the kraken salary to get what is owed
