Wonder if cozens had a legitimate shot of making the team last year , until he broke his arm?

NHL size and speed if I remember correctly from last tournament.

He was skinny & needed to add muscle imo
I saw him personally multiple times last summer
He said the plan for him was to hit the gym & see

Nice to see Johnson get rewarded tonight with 20 minutes.

Been pretty underrated the whole tournament.

That game was fun to watch

Depending on how into analytics you are, this is the reason why I couldn’t disagree more that it wasn’t close to reasonable-

@ByronMBader
Marco Rossi currently has the 5th highest star probability of any forward drafted since 2015.

Eichel, McDavid, Matthews and Laine are the four above him.

Svechnikov, Marner, Pettersson and Keller are the four below him.

If he doesn’t turn out to be a perennial all-star, it’s a surprise

Probably the laziest analytics out there.

It was an interesting back read this morning; highlighted by someone stating Peterka has had more of an impact on Team Germany than Quinn has had on Team Canada. That post really stood out to me.

I can see a modecom of merit in this statement if one considers draft position and draft position only when initially setting expectations...then sure.

Yet when one considers Team Canada has 22 1st-round craft picks playing for jt, while Team Germany may have ??5?? Players drafted at all, then the realistic expectations would push those of Quinn down, while Peterka's go up.

My point isn't to ridicule, rather to add some perspective.

Make it a great day today.
Go Team USA!!! ... and Cozens and Quinn!

Why did Pastrnak go in the 20's?
- Wetbandit1

Well thats what Im saying. Its a crap shoot after the first 1/2 dozen picks. I get Rossi was the consensus at that spot over Quinn but how did that work out when we took Allen (Quinn) over Rosen ( Not gonna call him Rossi ). That was the consensus.

If we went back 3 years in this blog it would be deja vu......

When it comes to evaluating individual players, it can be tricky. However, looking at team play isn't as much of a crap shoot. Canada has a very deep team, even deeper than normal, and their goaltender has been outstanding. That's even considering the fact that they lost Kirby Dach before this thing even started. It's been pretty much a cakewalk from Day 1. They haven't had to face much adversity yet, and might not have to. The only advantage the US might have is that they're a little more battle tested. Spencer Knight is going to have to stand on his head.

Yeah, talk about a prospect that has risen from the dead so to speak. He wasn’t at a “bust” level but things weren’t looking great
