Sure, but i don’t think he was good to begin with
Year before he had a save% of only .908
Now he’s 35

Do u really gamble on the future of Hall & Eichel staying here on Carter freaking Hutton???
I sure as sh!t don’t

- jdfitz77

Why ya yelling?

Hutton got off to a smokin start last year. Then he fell off a cliff

Impressive secondary assist there by Cozens finishing off a strong shift

Staal had 2 or 3 scoring opportunities. Probably the best scoring chances for Gold other than Rieder potting his goal. Okposo was just dumping pucks in on his way to the bench. The game has passed him by.

Id rather see them go with

Thompson-Eakin-Cozens
Ruotsalainen-Lazar-Rieder

Gives me the speed I neeeeeed

- jcragcrumple

Linemates mean anything? You said Okposo was slow. I said so was Staal. It's not a crime for their first scrimmage, especially since one, Okposo, hasn't played in 10 months

I am flabbergasted he even had the gall to suggest playing hockey with 1 good eye might not affect his play. Or that we would have "no idea" if it did or not.

Like. Flabbergasted. I mean. It's a known fact that it completely destroys your depth perception to have a wonky eye.

- 3rd GM's the charm

Yeah. What you said

Fair enough. I'm pretty sure he'll make the team but I think at this point of his career he'd be lucky to get a PTO on a team if he weren't already under contract

No. But I've always had both eyes working. You know, for depth perception

Not arguing that. It was their first scrimmage and for most their first competitive play since mid-March. They ain't spring chickens

“Deshaun Watson had 7 games this season where he threw at least 10 passes, had a passer rating of at least 110 points, and lost.

Tom Brady has 3 games like that in his entire career.

Watson's 10 career losses with a 110+ passer rating already ranks 2nd all-time. (Brees has 15.)

Watson only has 25 career losses, which means in 40% of his losses he's had a passer rating of 110 or better.

For context, Mahomes has the highest career PR in history with 108.7.

Watson averaged 8.22 adjusted net yards per attempt, which is the 29th-best season since 1960 (minimum 10 games).

Of the 36 seasons with 8+ ANY/A, Watson's .250 win% isn't just the worst, but 2nd-worst is all the way up at .500 (1991 Young, 2004 Culpepper, 2008 Rivers).“

That’s actually franked. Best part is they don’t pick until 67 this year with no end in sight. Does Watson ask out ?

Then he got better again towards the end of the season

He’s extremely inconsistent

And somehow the eye made him play terrible during the losing streak, but not after???

Saved 41 of 43 shots against the Pens
Pretty amazing with only 1 eye
https://www.hockey-refere.../h/huttoca01/gamelog/2020
That was 3 weeks after the losing streak ended

And i wasn’t “yelling”
Just don’t think it’s smart to risk Jack & Hall staying or not on a goalie who is nothing more than average at best, and horrible at worst
We just don’t have the room for error this season

Girgensons injury looks bad.

Sabres are about to be a mess defensively

- sbroads24

I'm absolutely fine with Girgs not playing for this team in any way, shape, or form.

Do you know the details? I don't. He had trouble in one eye. When it started or when it ended I don't know but to say that playing with only one good eye isn't a handicap is ludicrous. That's my last word on the subject. The floor is yours

If ALL you’re taking away from what i said is the comment about the eye,
then you’re missing my point

Listen man, Eric Staal is amazing. He’s new, he’s really fast, and young, and he’s going to excite me until I’m tired of him and then I’ll throw him in the trash with all the others

It seems like you're rooting against Staal which is sad to me. I think he's going to be really good with Skinner and Reinhart. I'm open to a friendly wager if you want to propose the parameters. Give me an even strength points projection and total points

If this was a full season, I would expect him to burn out and underwhelm. 56-games and he really might be what we needed. He was bummed to get traded here, that's for sure. The Hall signing really helped, the delayed and shortened season helped even more.

That said, he showed up to work on time his first day and seems to have enjoyed it. If the Reinhart on Jack's wing experiment is over and our 2nd line is Skinner/Staal/Reinhart then I'm actually excited to see what they can do together.

Hall/Eichel/Olofsson
Skinner/Staal/Reinhart

Looks as good a top-6 as any at this point.

I'll take the over on 27 even strength with 35 points overall. That's a 50 point season over 82

Why would I root against Staal? I was poking fun at you predictably coming to the shiny new toys defense when someone said he looked a tad slow today, because you’re a sucker for a new guy.

Staal is probably going to be fine.

What’s the bet?
