I tried for years to care.

Entered bracket pools for about 15 years, hoping it would get me to be interested.

It never took.

I enjoyed the Raptors run.

After that, it was a very short walk back to don't care.

I was the exact same with the Celtics in ‘08

Although, that team held together after that championship, so I definitely still paid attention and watched a couple games a week.

Yeah, not to toot my own horn, but I’ve been known to cook. It’s a great method for certain things. It’s also easier to cook, when you can have those utility tool type appliances

Don’t ask me why, but I have meatloaf on the start of every NHL season. I’m smoking an Australian Wagyu ground beef bacon weaved meatloaf. Yum

It will probably shave 43.5 minutes off of my life expectancy, though

- RickJames77

Thats an awesome tradition. Im not enough of a cook to buy one, but i learned something today, so that a win

Hmm surprising. I love March madness, but couldn’t care less about the NBA. My college team has been in the tourney 5 of the last 6 years, which has been sweet!

I loved it too, but I couldn't tell you what position a single Raptor played, and if I had to coach 8 year olds in beginner basketball, I wouldn't be able to tell them the first offensive or defensive formation.

The weird thing about sous vide is that you don't have to be a cook.

It's like gourmet cooking for idiots.

Meh - it’s cooking for idiots if they use it as a main tool. That’s amateur hour.

No steak in my sous vide for instance. Reverse sear all day. Some idiots use it for things it shouldn’t be used for.

Mrs. Wedgie took a cooking course at the local community college about 15 years ago.

Since then, we have not had a single steak on the BBQ. It's seared on a hot frying pan, and then baked in the oven.

I make no apologies.

Although she just gave me a pizza oven for Christmas - so now I'm researching how to cook a steak at 700 degrees F.

Well, you can do a lot of awesome in sous vide. Even steaks, I just don’t prefer some things sous vide. I think some people get one and do EVERYTHING in there.

Have you ever done a custard like creme brûlée though? Hot damn.

Here’s a true Ahjay gadget AW is sure to make fun of:

I have an Otto Wilde - thing is a (frank)ing tank. I use that or my Kamado Joe as a pizza oven.

Pretty simple:

You vacuum pack the meat.

Then you put it in a bowl of super-hot water, and it cooks it in its own juices - so it never dries out.

So I just googled it - not sure what the frank it is.

Looks like an industrial toaster oven.

Also, If you smoke meats (ahah yeah I know), there’s no better way to reheaT BBQ, than sous vide. Even Aaron Franklin says so. I have slices of Australian Wagyu BMS 9+ brisket frozen, that I’ll pull out and sous vide for a side to some meals. It’s killer.
