Fletcher says they have been working with Morin at wing for a few months. After barely playing over the last few years I was doubtful that he'd be able to get back to an NHL level at the position he's familiar with. Seems almost impossible that he'll be able to do it one he's not familiar playing.
- Dkos

Guess he’s had a lot of time during the pandemic to watch film lol. Excited for Morin and hope he can make it. We should totally ice a line of Ratcliffe-Frost-Morin 🤣

I am glad Pat Croce is doing well.

Among other things, I remember Donald Trump, in his apparently (but also not really) pre-psycho days of the late 90s, saying "Does Philadelphia know what it has in Pat Croce?"

Just read the NHL write-up on prospects in WJHC: Seems like York and Brink are doing good though not great. But Andrae is doing perhaps a little below expectations based on post-draft hype I was reading about him.

Is that a fair assessment?

No not fair at all. They are all the best players on their respected teams.

Andrae has grown 4 inches. His teammates are calling him Andrae the Giant.

Chara at his age and situation is looking to play for a contender in the twilight of his career. He probably views the Caps as a better fit than a team like the Flyers right now.
- MJL

Possibly, But are they really in better shape than us? If Chara were to come here and be stapled to the bottom pair and kill penalties I’d be fine with it but I’m not losing sleep over it. Him playing anything outside of a bottom pair role would be a bad sign.

Morin being moved to LW. 😂😂
- PLindbergh31

Playing the same teams 8 times a year, might need to dress him on the fourth line for a game or two to set some people straight.

That’s why I’m asking the question. Our blogger might have insight. Crazy, right?

And why would it be relevant if Bruins fans were happy he walked, when we could use him?

- SuperSchennBros

It’s relevant because they know he’s not the same player and on his last leg, it points to something when a team that already lost a 20+ minute Dman and then let the captain walk people didn’t bat an eye.

Or he’s a bust as a D man, and they are trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

If he sucks at wing, they can try him at Center next. 😂

Both could actually have more goals. They have been good yes. Brinks last games was excellent and York has been steady all around as expected.

Looking forward to the quarter-finals. 8 out of 10 teams go on. Absurd. These games are for scoreboard padding.

York is leading the tournament (tied now) for scoring among defensemen and is playing well overall. Brink has been good, and made a big impact on the Czech game. Andrae has played well in the minutes he's been given.

Bringing Chara here if possible doesn’t mean the Flyers or any other organization for that matter expects Chara to be a 20 plus minute player. That’s Provorov, Sanheim and Myers expectation. The Flyers for example would be hoping he fills the hole Niskanen left, minus the power play time. Maybe you view him as a third pair defenseman who can kill penalties and that’s fine but I don’t.

Chara saying he didn't want the reduced role Boston was offering him, I can see why Philly wouldn't have been at the top of his list

They have: Giroux, Bee, JVR, Oskar, Laughton, Raffl as candidates for LW.

Wtf?

Seems like a crapshoot, pie-in-the-sky kind of experiment.

Provorov
Myers
Sanheim
Gustafsson
Braun
one of Gostisbehere or Hägg will be every game starters

Friedman would need to clear waivers to go on the taxi squad or sent to the AHL
Zamula is a rookie this season, and likely on taxi squad or Phantoms

Where's the open spot on D?

I saw him play last year, quite a few games, including playoffs. Still a beast, tremendous competitor.

He has lost a step, but its not a regression like Subban or Doughty. I would have moved Sanheim to the right and played Chara with Sanheim for that coin this year. He would easily have been our 4th best D, and possibly even #3. And those goals that Anders Lee scored from the paint don't happen with someone like Chara on the pk.

None of them. But Chara can't play 20+ mins anymore regularly in his own right.

Glad to hear Croce is doing OK. We met a few times in the Keys and he was a real down to earth guy. I believe he still owns, or maybe his son owns, a few spots in the Conch Republic. The Green Parrot was always great place to hang out. Actually was surprised to learn that he is younger than me. Thanks for the update Bill.

Thinking about Key West, I wonder if the Drag Queen Drop goes off tonight or is it another casualty of the COVID?

Well then you are oblivious, he should not be in the top 4 on any team.
