who knows things about audio stuffs?

I'm shopping for affordable speakers for my living room. Like under $175ish. I keep finding "Studio monitors" online, which apparently aren't what I want?

I really just want speakers that I can use with my phone or ipod or with itunes on my computer.

I don't even really know if I'm looking for Wifi speakers, or Bluetooth speakers, or both.

despite slowing down he'd still be a good ally to have if mammoth hunting is coming back in order to survive. kinda like Milanderthal Lucic, although he's probably just too (frank)ing dumb

they're not what you want..?

personally I find there are decent options on Amazon that aren't too pricey, and that have good quality sound. as for wifi/bluetooth I'd prioritize bluetooth, but if it has both well it's even better

I'd look at a soundbar w/ a subwoofer. Since you live in a condo, I believe, also invest in some black foam mats for under the subwoofer, so you don't piss off the neighbors below.

they said they aren't good for listening to music? it confused me because.. well, because they're speakers.

but keep in mind that the last time i bought speakers you had to buy copper wire with them so i think times have changed and i may be a little behind in my speaker knowledge.

are those kinda like "bookshelf" speakers?

I guess it depends if you're really picky with the sound. I've been using a JBL bluetooth speaker, it's perfect for my apartment, and it's even loud enough if I throw a little party or whatever (you know, those gatherings of people we used to have? )

I like that I’m not a miscreant lol Thanks, to you too.

Been having knee issues for years, had both ACL reconstructed a couple of times and the knees are kinda giving on me these days, doc wants to see if the ligaments are still hanging in there, fun time...If I need an op, I think it would be knee op number 7...joy lol

sounds like replacements are in the future. know a few people that have had them and it was life changing for them. hopefully no surgery needed

the first step in choosing speakers is knowing what you are going to use it for. (music, movies, human voice, party, ambiance sound, etc)

then there is room size, budget, sound quality expectations and preferences.

Does it have to be portable or not?

ps: i believe «nearfield monitor» means you will get bass if positioned... near

The edifier series on amazon looks popular with good price to performance ratio and have integrated amplifier and bluetooth on most model i think, which can be convenient.

there are quite a few comaprison videos around the net that can really be useful.

personnally i own two small 100$ bluetooth speakers and they can produce a surprising sound for the size, plus they are portable, but not ideal for left/right stereo effect.
