Yeah but you are also showing him the faculties, meeting Adams / Ralph, and just showing Quinn what the nhl is all about.

Cozens got that taste during last preseason.

Obviously a different situation / different times

- Sabretooth9

I agree it would be beneficial for him to be around the big club for a couple of weeks to start with. Even if he doesn’t get much more than limited time in a game or two, practicing with the big club will go far towards his development. He can go back to Junior with an idea of things in his game that he should focus on improving, and with a better understanding of what being a pro really entails. It can’t hurt to further stoke his desire to be in the NHL by giving him a taste of it.

This is what I think they’ll do:

Hall-Eichel-Olofsson
Skinner-Staal-Reinhart
Girgensons-Eakin-Cozens
Tage-Lazar-Okposo

- Pegullaville

Flip Girgs and Tage and I think you've nailed it. Eakin mentoring 2 young guys would be good.

This team would be so much better if Mitts panned out at 3C, pushing Eakin to 4C.

I’m just scared of what that third line looks defensively.

I’m sure if any coach saw Thompson-Eakin-Cozens coming over the boards their top line would be coming out forsure.

Good point. Interesting to see at today's practice that Ralph has put together:

Girgs-Eakin-Okposo

Would that be our 3rd or 4th line?

You're right but at some point, you can't protect a line and you have to do what is best for the team.

I'd give the Tage - Eakin - Cozens more offensive zone starts and hope you can get plus offensive production out of Eakin while not getting crushed defensively.

The reality is that line would likely get the least amount of 5v5 minutes while the line of Girgensons - Sheahan/Lazar - Okposo would get more 5v5 minutes, which is ok.

Third. Theyre probably hoping that Eakin can coax some offense out of the other two, and that the other two can stabilize Eakin defensively

That's the way I see it playing out as well.

I'm with Boss, I'd love to see Cozens get a shot with Eichel. Also pleasantly surprised that we broke up Jack and Sam. Wasn't sure he'd do that, or even try it.

Should make a deal with the Yotes for Kuemper or Ranta.....but I don't think they want Hutton in return......
- HenryHockey

The cap is flat and is going to be for awhile, if teams want to make deals and get assets in return they're gonna have to take back cap plain and simple.

It's just not easy to make trades, if the Yotes get an offer they like for Kuemper but aren't willing to take back an expiring $2.75M cap hit they're being pretty shortsighted.

I think they'll give Cozens some time with Eichel, but when it comes to the choice of either Cozens or Olofsson with Eakin, I'm choosing Cozens 100% of the time due to his style of play and more mature game at both ends of the ice.

I'd like him playing more than 4th line minutes, but you have a good point on line balance.

I believe Cozens will get more than 4th line minutes while Eakin and Tage, if that is the line, will get 4th line minutes, if that makes sense.
