the goal is to win the entire thing

the higher the seed, the better the odds

I doubt he gets heat unless the steelers are down by 20 points if an injury occured

- homiedclown

No fans, no real home field advantage. Sure sleeping in your own beds ect.

I'd rather match up against a team that we feel comfortable about beating.

If a starter on the o line or ja17 gets injured, the goal of winning the whole thing doesnt even get started .

Remember what our north American poster preaches, REAL football hasnt even started yet? 🤔

He could also be bluffing. Big advantage playing last.

Great "out of the box" thinking. 👍
Tomlin Could be bluffing: didnt even consider that

I would imagine everyone wants to avoid playing lamar and Baltimore. Seems like last season with watson beating the Bill's.

if covid breaks out in the locker room it doesn't get started either

it's go time so I doubt we rest guys until we have the game looking like an expected win

True, I bet the starters see a 1/2. McDermott is going to want to win.

I wouldn't personally. We're locked in.
I would say with Pittsburgh not playing starters, seems like they should lose. Good point by lunaion, could be bluffing.

Marv used to rest players. Worked pretty good.

Kenny Stills in for a workout.

Love that. Good insurance and depth.

If he signs for more than a year say goodbye to Brown in the off season

I dont think the Steelers beat the Browns even if Ben plays.

The Steelers stand to lose more psychologically from losing if they're trying than losing if they're not trying. Ben is old and broken

Ben is on a hobbled knee. Tomlin isn't bluffing. The Steelers are already limping into the playoffs. If Ben gets hurt further or if they look bad with Ben at the helm and lose to the Browns with him in there, their morale is toast.

Tomlin made the calculated decision to sit him, pretend that losing is his idea rather than face the fact that they'd probably lose either way. It's a physical boost to get the rest and a morale boost for his team to pretend that they could have won if they were trying

Maybe, but if you want to see how the weekend plays out, it's the smart move.

Mason Rudolph may even give them the best chance to win.

I agree with this post.

Although, Tomlin could change his mind or bluff depending on the matchup.

99% sure.

You think we should use our starters?

I wouldn't. I get the logic of playing the starting offense for a series or a quarter if they want to, but no way I would do more than that. Let Allen get a TD and then take him out. That's the most I'd do

I mean, what's the point even? 6,700? 71,608 capacity and they won't even let 10% in? Just some quick math shows that if you do 2 seats between each fan and every other row, plus press boxes and luxury seating, you should be able to fit around 10,000 fans in.

I wonder if tickets will be allowed on the secondary market. The price would be ridiculous

Pretty much, you also need to have a negative test within 3 days of the game and then do a rapid test there the day of and if you go to the first game and there is a second home playoff game you wont be allowed at the next one

STH's that opted out this year aren't eligible for purchasing tickets.

I'm not a STH but I have friends who opted out this year. Basically, they were given the option to pay this year, and apply to next year if no fans, or wait to pay until next year. Job uncertainty caused him to choose Option B.
