Yup, agree...being there is more fun...being home is more convenient. Having lived in Rochester ror 25 years beginning in 1991, the trips to/from the games became more of an issue on several fronts. Similar now from Lakewood Ranch to Tampa...the getting out and drive home is a pain.

I shared 1st Row of 300's at center ice for years with my brother...and agree that I loved being able to see the play develop from that vantage point. Before that we started with last row of Oranges in The Aud and moved our way down over the years...think we ended up around the 3rd row oranges before moving to The Marina. Good memories!

Good stuff ๐Ÿ‘

Excellent dedication to the drive backs and forth to Rochester.

When I first started selling my tickets 6/7 years ago, people would make the weekend drive all the time.

Sabres smell = nobody going out of their way to see an inferior product. Can't blame them.

My buddy lives in lakewood my other buddy in Lakeland?

Itโ€™s been impressive imo how the Patsโ€™ defense has still been good even though they lost a bunch of guys to free agency & opt outs
Their defense should be even better next year getting guys back

Luckily for us, their offense is in shambles
And unless they find a legit QB (Stidham doesnโ€™t worry me) and some pass catchers, their offense will be mediocre again next year

Dolphins gonna get even stronger with all the draft picks theyโ€™ve got again, plus more development from Tua
They look to be our main competitors in the division moving forward

How many times have you pretended to be an insider?

(2) 1sts for kane
Pegula bashing - yacht jokes
Terry has a poker face

I'm proud to be a season ticket holder. I'm loyal.

You make stuff up, pretend you're in the "know"
That's really an interesting posture around here.

And you want to swallow sam reinfart whole.
Swallow his entire body. Down your throat

Also an odd posture for an slightly above average player ?

- Boss34

Dude... you pump up Girgs WAY more than Homie does Reinhart
And Reinhart is exponentially better than Girgs

Any taxi squad guesses ?

I think you must have 1 goalie, so that's probably Tokarski. Maybe Johansson ?

Mitts, Borgen, Davidson, Quinn (for 9 games ?) ? Maybe Bryson ?

Personally, I want Mitts on the regular roster instead of Rieder, but I don't think that's going to happen.

- kritter65

Iโ€™d imagine theyโ€™d want Johansson (and other youngsters) actually playing instead of sitting in the press box nightly
No kids on the taxi squad imo

I think people are forgetting that the Sabres would in all likelihood be one of those teams
- jcragcrumple

If oil and gas prices increased yes, perhaps so.
But competing against the likes of Rogers Comm., Molsons, MSG, etc could be tough.

The fact that anyone thought he would be a quality NFL QB is a joke. he should have been like a 4th rounder at best.. not a 1st rounder. Ohio State hasn't had an NFL quality QB in forever.
- SabresFaninIndiana

What does the bold matter?

Did Wyoming have a quality QB before Allen?
Texas Tech before Mahomes?
Cal before Rodgers?
Louisville before Lamar?
Miami(OH) before Big Ben?
Purdue before Brees?

The list goes on.....

Hall/Eichel/Thompson
Skinner/Staal/Cozens
Olofsson/Eakin/Reinhart
Girgensons/Lazar/Okposo

Dahlin/Risto
McCabe/Jokiharju
Miller/Montour

As for the bolded. Ralph is going to overuse Risto, so why not see if he and Dahlin can produce some offense and let McCabe/Jokiharju act as the shut down pair

- sbroads24

I think itโ€™s a good idea
If Risto can look better with Pilut, then why not try it with Dahlin?

And if Dahlin is gonna be the guy we all (well, all of us who donโ€™t want him moved to Center) think he is.... then he doesnโ€™t โ€œneedโ€ a top pair quality partner anyways. He should be just fine with pretty much anyone heโ€™s paired with

The only potential negative....
is that with a short season & tough division,
we donโ€™t have much room for error this season if the pairing crashes & burns

I don't see Risto being good for Dahliin as his defensive game sucks and Dahlin isn't there yet in that regard
I'd rather have Miller as his partner, and free Dahlin to play more like a Rover...turn him lose.

My theory is he's going to play Risto a ton anyways, so let his partner be the guy I also want to play a ton

Was Pilut good defensively?
And he & Risto played well together

Also, if Dahlin is getting the puck up ice then it limits how much โ€œdefenseโ€ Risto actually has to play

I was saying this last year too
And Sbroads makes sense with his thinking that Risto & his partner will be on the ice a lot....
so letโ€™s pair him with the other guy we want out there a lot

Canโ€™t do that. A rover is comparable to a Center and heโ€™s a defenceman.

Bigger schools have more money to spend on better coaching and higher profile games

If Allen went to a big school. He wouldโ€™ve been way more nfl ready and most likely the first overall pick

Instead he was at Wyoming .... who the Frank plays there. (We know why he did) and had less coaching and less national media attention

So the QBs you named. Yes they came from no name schools. But the odds of them succeeding like they are is slim to none.

It's been awhile, but from what I remember they started off strong and then faded once teams figured Pilut out...i.e. jump on him quick. I seem to remember Pilut being good for Risto, not necessarily the other way around...but w/e.

Getting up the ice faster is valid, but occurs after one actually defensively stops the play and begins the transition game...so, while I see that being a benefit in anyone's game, it doesn't help with the actual defending if you get my point there. I'd rather have a defensively strong player partnered with him. Let Miller play bigger minutes and Risto less...around 18 min a night would be great.

Better yet, trade Risto and Montour, use the $9m to acquire a stud (don't need to spend all of it, probably 50%)

Yup Risto is 100% in the top 4 d core wise. All the advanced stat wizards are out for blood and over analyzing Risto game.

Itโ€™s like Eichel with Reinhart. So many people want Reinhart to drive his own line

Ralph repeatedly stated he likes them together.

Lol embarrassing take. This isnโ€™t video games.

Montour on the right side was fine. He sucked on his offside. Which happens.

And Risto isnโ€™t nearly as bad as you make him out to be

I think itโ€™s just tiring to see a guy whoโ€™s obviously in over his head as a #1 D man continually put in that role year after year while his trade value plummets.

He was worth a 24 year old Taylor Hall when Murray was GM. He apparently was worth Ehlers last year. I donโ€™t think heโ€™s worth much now

I wouldnโ€™t be surprised if Cozens remains on the wing at the NHL level and becomes that new age power forward.

Would open up trading Reinhart for our long term 2C next offseason.

Then you have Thompson, Quinn, Peterka, Olofsson all vying for the other top 6 RW option (assuming Hall is resigned and Skinner remains as our top 6 LW)

95% of the fans believe Risto is a defensive liability. I'll leave it there, as being in the lower 5% loses all credibility.

When did I say play Montour on his left?

Talk about embarassing, holy crap.
