I kinda feel for Babs tbh.. He got fired because they players quit on him. He had to go, but it was embarrassing watching the team quit. They couldn't handle the pressure. Tavares and Rielly had career years under Babs, they rose to the occasion.

They havent taken a step forward under his leadership, three years is plenty of time to implement all the personnel you want. We'll see how this season goes.

There's only one player on the team that's overpaid. One trade that didn't work out off the top of my head. And he's showing the ability to adjust the philosophy this past offseason.

They peaked and then stagnated with Babcock and improved under Keefe, despite playing the entire Covid interrupted season with not even a single game as a healthy team.

People female dog about not advancing in the playoff, which obviously would be great, but lets not pretend that the Leafs didn't face the #1, #4, and #2 team in the league in 3 consecutive series, after being the literal last place team in the league the season before.

to be fair, if i was a high profile coach like babs, i wouldnt be thrilled that a 32 yr old who's never really played hockey was my boss. Dubas was touted as this hockey genius, but i dont see it.
