Yup.
I'm looking forward to the 10 pages of Booner telling you that you are wrong pumping the Leafs tires.

I am not sure where I stand with the Leafs . They did lose some speed when they dumped salary. They did get a lot older also but what will Thorton bring?

Bogasian and Brodie in and Barrie and Cici out is a bit of a push.

For the regular season I just think they’re players are bit more talented/higher-end than the other Canadian teams. They don’t have as big of a drop off as some of the other Canadian teams after their big guns. But that’s why they play the games. The added leadership should help I’m guessing.

We have Sutter for leadership

We are close talent wise but I don't have a problem giving them the edge.

Edit. I also think when Petey Quinn and Bo decide to play they can beat anyone. The playoffs were a good experience for those three last year. They seen how hard it was and unlike the Leafs they know what it's like to win a round

That's the difference that makes the Canucks better as a team even though the Leafs have more higher profile talent.

haha nice cherry pick - It should read "EVERY Canadian team except Ottawa is what cap hell looks like in todays NHL..." doesn't have the same narrative ring to it though?

Anytime I can get Lefty/Gemma to defend the Leafs for 10 pages in a Canucks thread while he claims it's a victory, is a win for me.

Read the article. It didn't mention that about the other 6 teams. Nice try with the 'everybody has herpes, so I might as well get herpes' argument.

Don’t kid yourself, as much as I think Sutter isn’t great at hockey anymore, nor was he ever, he’s been a great mentor for some of the young guys. He’s a quality person, just not good at hockey anymore.

Personally I think Winnipeg is going to surprise some people with how good they are and if Yamamoto can continue his torrid pace after he was called up, Edmonton could suddenly have two lines along with the best two offensive forwards in the league.

Calgary is certainly deeper than last year and their goaltending is going to be much better, a lot of interesting stories regarding an “all Canadian” division.

Seems like Caps might go after MAF. That will eat into their cap for next year.

I wonder if Pettersson is going to break out offensively in his third season like Draisaitl did in his fourth season, does he have that kind of talent in him?

Draisaitl is so good offensively, other than McDavid he’s the best offensive forward in the league; I should pop into the Leafs thread and ask them how much better they think Draisaitl is than Matthews

I remember his first goal and I thought good for him . Then he followed it up with two more next game. It was great to see a Canuck kid with that much skill

Ya really depends on whether their young core is willing to commit to all facets of the game - if not, they won't be able to simply turn it on in the playoffs and will bow out early.
