I don't understand your embittered old man persona. I mean, why hurry things?

At your age, on a Friday, shouldn't you be exchanging emojis with navel pierced cuties on SnapChat?

We need some hockey. I’m a little old for the Snapchat cuties phase.

Recchi won the Bobby Clarke Trophy twice and had a 91-point season during his second Flyers stint. So I'd say he was still pretty effective.

Wow you mentioned exactly my beef with the guy. To be fair though, I only remember Recchi's 2nd stint with us. That energizer bunny ineffectuality in offensive zone entrances is seared in my brain. He would do this sudden predictable acceleration, and get sealed off on the boards. It was like clockwork.

His was the fairly typical story of 95% of Flyers forwards in the past 20 years. For the last 10-12 years of his long career, he was a decent player, with a tremendous work ethic and drive, who on merit should have been a 2nd or 3rd line player on a good club or played with all star caliber forwards on 1st line if he played there (same is true for almost all our current forwards). But in our scheme, he played 1RW and was expected to be a star. He wasn't a star. He would scare nobody. Consequently, when he faced meaningful competition, his stats plummeted (0.5 ppg or so in post-season with us in 2nd stint).

In Carolina, he played 2nd line and 2nd and 3rd, iirc in Boston. In such a complEmentary role, he did fine, a la Richards, Carter,Justin Williams (technically on 1st in 2012, but with Kopitar at his prime then and Brown creating havoc).

Another ridiculous and absurd post. Either you're purposely trying to stir the pot or you're woefully uninformed. Recchi's second stint with the Flyers included seasons of 91,77 and two 64 point seasons. The guy is a bona fide HOF player and one of the best offensive players to ever play for the Flyers.

"Pretty effective" is a subjective statement. I(n fact anytime you add the prefix 'pretty' before something, you are damning with faint praise. You don't call a star a "pretty good" player).

And someone has to win the Bobby Clarke.

Looks like he did have that great 91 point season, mostly on Lindros' line.

I find playoff stats more revealing. 39 points in 65 games. Take away that same season, and its 21 points in 47 games.

Does he deserve inclusion based on other time spans and overall accomplishments? Sure.

But he was an A- type player those 5 years.

If I had to imagine your face I picture broken teeth, busted nose, huge massive oozing cuts. Reason being, the things you say to people face to face, in person must get you beaten on a daily basis. Unless of course your just tough on here, on a computer, waiting for your dinner.

You're a walking contradiction. Each time a rebuttal proves you to be wrong, you "upgrade" your position. Now Recchi has gone from an ineffective offensive player to an A- player.
Your other tactic is to remove a time period to try and spin your asinine positions.
A-, star, or pretty good players are not ineffective offensively. Your analysis and position is what is ineffective.
