Haida issues with VAN logo.
https://twitter.com/TMZ/status/1338894599914319875 - VanHockeyGuy
My biggest issue with this, as with every single person advocating these things, is that people are "speaking on behalf of others". If he truly feels this way, he should interview the tribes he feels are being hurt by it and get their opinion. If they feel that it is in fact hurting them in any way, yes 100% change it. If they like it and/or feel that it helps/brings attention to their plights(if any), then keep it as it is. Other people need to stop speaking on behalf of other cultures/races as if they know what those people are going through on a daily basis. |

Stecher had pretty well equal numbers when paired with a top 4 defender but Fatty had better numbers without Myers.
Tried to say he's a 4/5 guy when we got him. Which doesn't make him capable of top pairing minutes. - manvanfan
Fatty was garbage, not someone worth using to make a point. Number also suggest he helps most of his partners nearly as much as they help him. |

Interference and hooking is a lazy way to play the body. - Marwood
"Perhaps the single most damning statistic gathered by McCurdy on Myers was his penalty differential. Between 2017 and 2019, the Winnipeg Jets drew 39% fewer penalties with Myers on the ice, and took 26% more."

Exactly. The guy is a prof in Manitoba, wtf would he know about how the actual local indigenous people feel? |

Whenever I go to games there are always a good number of First Nations folks wearing that jersey. I guess the cultural impropriety isn't a big concern for some of them. |

Many numbers paint many pictures for Myers.
When Fatty and Stecher are the players you are comparing him to making others better. It's not that hard for Myers to look better. The fact that he can't prop up another D at all.
Hughes improved the club. Myers took that 4/5 spot from below NHL avg to NHL avg is all.

So he’s better than Hutton but not as good as Edler (on the other side)? |

From Sportsnet article today - https://www.sportsnet.ca/...contract-expansion-draft/
Projecting and guessing a bit, you would think the Krakken will be selecting one of these guys from the Canucks Roster:
- Braden Holtby
- Tyler Myers
- Antoine Roussel
- Zack MacEwen
- Kole Lind
Assuming that Demko continues his development, i'd be good with and expect Holtby would get snatched up. Unless he sucks this year, then i'd guess Myers. |

ya? A player you probably shouldn't have take a regular top 4 spot unless 3 better defenders are always healthy. |

There are some nice players in top 10 of this upcoming draft, so I won't be disappointed if Canucks miss playoffs. - Reubenkincade
Eventually Reubs we need to move past that attitude. Drafting high because the team sucks has it's cycles and we are past that for now. We won't be drafting in the top ten for awhile it's something people need to get used to. |

You realize some GM's have the ability to acquire a high draft pick via trade right?
You can actually obtain assets via trade to address other needs. |

VHL is a better league than the NCAA.
From the last few games i've seen most of the teams play on a NHL size ice.
According to another article i'm reading, SKA switched to an NHL size ice surface along with another 5 teams. Another 11 teams play on a Finnish surfaces which is 2 Meters wider than NHL but 2 M closer than the international which 7 KHL teams play,
Rogle plays on an NHL size ice also.
The whiners just lost another thing to whine about. |

If we make the playoffs, that is good also.
The Canadian division is not going to be easy, with the only team we should be almost guaranteed to be ahead of is Ottawa, so ya maybe we need to move past the attitude that this bubble team is guaranteed a playoff spot. |

Canucks want to make play offs. What kind of trades could they do at this stage to acquire top 10 picks?

How does one interview an entire culture? Would that not be the same as “speaking on behalf of others”?
This is an issue when working with First Nations, you have hereditary chiefs and you have elected chiefs. They too don’t always speak for the entire culture.
Best thing to do is avoid these situations altogether. Pick an emblem, crest, or mascot that has absolutely no connection to any culture or class. Stick in rink or downhill skate are perfect. Other than being ugly it won’t offend. |
