Podkolzin'

Let the kid get his feet wet first. It's a big jump from 4th line KHL'er to top 6 in the NHL. I think it'll take a bit longer than a few months. Especially with a heavy schedule which will probably limit practice time.

OMG waiver scraps

Got myself chub just thinking of the scrap pile!

With no waivers how are we gonna complain about losing the next Corrado?

OK, but it's a big ask for the reasons I stated. In my mind it's a pretty big role to jump into.

Yup
He is a very good two way player. Dont be fooled by his 4 th line minutes. Him and his coach do not get along at all.

BeetleJohn and I destroyed the TO board over Corrado

Man, did he turn into a hero or what?

Swing and a miss on that one.

I agree with Vantel, Podz has all the two way skills to slide into the middle 6, he'll be better then LE in that spot, Virt needs to be sheltered a bit to get his goals, again, middle six.

I think that I just want to see some decent hockey.

Euro stuff is getting me by but it's like you know how people think that the 4th lines aren't quality. Well lines 3, 4 aren't very quality on most of these euro teams.

- manvanfan

When I watch the intensity isn’t there. It’s hard to get into the games. Lots of perimeter play & not much contact. Soft hockey.

I don't doubt that TG doesn't want to have two rookies on defence this season.

Still a young coach in TG.

Benn doesn't really take over the hole left by Tanev and I don't really want to Schmidt to take over it either.

The idea of having Virtanen or LE in the top 6 i'm sure Travis has said "hold on a sec" putting his hands up like stop. Just saying, he coached JV for how many years and still hasn't created a reliable top 6 forward out of him. I guess coaches can only do so much.

- manvanfan

This.

i've been saying for awhile, i think they'll bring in another vet Dman before a forward.
We all know there will be injuries in the backend, which will allow a bunch of rookie D's to get their beaks wet. Just not all at once.

Hughes - Schmidt
Edler - Myers
Juolevi - Hamonic

Benn - Rafferty
Rathbone - Chatfield

That feels like a solid top 6, with a good blend of size, skating and complimentary pairs.

I think when I've brought up Hamonic in the past, the consensus was that he was likely to sign with Wpg tho.

Luke Hughes appears to have won the genetic lottery over his big lil bros.
17 yrs old.
6'2 and 175 lbs.
Doesn't seem as highly sought after as Quinn and Jack.

Here is a video from his shootout winner.

Replace Graovac for Sutter. Saves 375k. Raffy for Benn another 375. Hogz for Baertschi 175K That's an extra 925k added onto Ferland on LTIR 3M if you sign Hoffman at 2M and Hamonic at 1m, you again are getting rid of one more contract again anywhere from 700k to 1.075

Effectively you could just keep sutter then

- manvanfan

What makes you guys so sure Hamonic is going to play?. He opted out last year because of family, unless his daughter gets the vaccine I think he’s done.

Of all the fantasy you quoted, this was the one thing you take issue with?

He's a first liner everywhere else but in the 2nd best league in the world and even then he's splitting time between 1st and 4th and the press box

That shootout winner looked like Quinn's release.

He might not be as sought after during his draft year but Quinn was one of the oldest players in his draft year. Luke is 7 days away from being in the 2022 draft.

Yeah the goal is to be like the leafs 10 players making less than 1 mil per to satisfy the 'cap whiners' so we can be back in the bottom 5 and miss the PO's every year...

Really need World Juniors to get going.

Jasek is off to some tournament that probably won't be streamed anywhere. Costmar at juniors, Podkolzin at juniors, Hoglander in quarantine.

Basically leaves Zlodeyev and Plasek jr for Euro's to watch. NCAA games are being played during the week this year but they don't play all that often.

Loui had 8 goals last year and half were empty netters . I think Pod will bring the shots against number down by a significant number. I don't think he will score double figure in goals .
