This was already sorted out. This is just you pretending to be half smart half a day later.

I don’t post on here every day, i was just pointing your inaccuracies today. Seems if you sorted it out you’d know he was injured?! Maybe it wasn’t sorted

Maybe only players that you will be able to fit under the cap?

(frank), I've got so many ideas but all have a small glitch.

Really they could sign all those players, just need to sign them for under 1.075M per season.

Ferland goes on LTIR, Canucks have 2M in cap space with 1 regular spot in the 23 needed. The other taxi squad can just not count until they are "called up". By not count I don't mean burying the whole of their contracts. Team needs to still be cap compliant at the start of the season, with their 23 man roster.

Only problem would be if a player who makes Less than the 1.075M goes down and Canucks have to call up a player from taxi squad who makes more. Wouldn't "have to" call someone up. You can run with 22 man roster. Only 20 players are needed nightly.

Effectively, Canucks could bury Le, Sutter, Baertschi, Benn to save themselves 4.3M and replace them with cheaper contracts to save a possible 1.8M more in cap space to sign someone else.

I have been on the same line of thinking for a week or so. First of all you need to know the final details from the NHL.

Last year in a 17 playoff games Canucks did not use one player on their taxi squad so in a 48 game or 56 game schedule they should not need to use them too often.

Next if you did send a player like Loui or Benn to waivers and wanted to call them back back up it would probably be because there is an injury which you could use their cap relief to suppliment the other 400 K.

I was fooling around last week on Cap Friendly and put Ferland on LTIR and sent down Sven Benn and Loui . You would be surprised what you could put together

As long as you are saving money on the 1.075 enough times, you could get someone more useful.

Replace Graovac for Sutter. Saves 375k. Raffy for Benn another 375. Hogz for Baertschi 175K That's an extra 925k added onto Ferland on LTIR 3M if you sign Hoffman at 2M and Hamonic at 1m, you again are getting rid of one more contract again anywhere from 700k to 1.075

Effectively you could just keep sutter then

Yup and you can add Roussel to the list also and replace with Hawryluk

Sutter will be on LTIR sooner or later.

You could effectively replace anyone who's cheaper to save money. It would have to make sense to the club though.

It might be better to "send down" a player with a higher salary to keep more fringe players like Zac Mac, Graovac (for center depth), Bailey from having to pass through waivers. Brisebois, Chatfield all needs waivers. Not like teams would want these players but they might for the fact that teams might be looking for extra depth in case of injuries.

It is a move a lot of team can use. It is technically a paper move. Example put Sutter on waivers and then add him to the taxi squad if the league is carrying one.

Agreed with your edit

Cap compliant easy peasey. Only costs FA more money & the escrow.

sorry added to my last post. essentially what you said here.

It would have to be a cheaper player and not a more expensive one though. Where you wouldn't be able to sign Brassard, Vatanen, Hoffman

So really they could add Hoffman and Hamonic for somewhere around 3M combined. I want to see some kids but for 3M. I'd do it. Hamonic 3rd pair and first PK duties. Hoffman it would make sense to have him play 1st power play and some sheltered 5v5 minutes.

I would probably try and get rid of Benn for a later round pick or lesser prospect. Hopefully a 5th.

I don't buy the Hoffman thing. The only one I ever seen post anything is EK. he has been right once .

I heard Moj and Freidman talking about Hamonic that could have some bite to it.

I think that I just want to see some decent hockey.

Euro stuff is getting me by but it's like you know how people think that the 4th lines aren't quality. Well lines 3, 4 aren't very quality on most of these euro teams.

I don't doubt that TG doesn't want to have two rookies on defence this season.

Still a young coach in TG.

Benn doesn't really take over the hole left by Tanev and I don't really want to Schmidt to take over it either.

The idea of having Virtanen or LE in the top 6 i'm sure Travis has said "hold on a sec" putting his hands up like stop. Just saying, he coached JV for how many years and still hasn't created a reliable top 6 forward out of him. I guess coaches can only do so much.

I think Jake only has to hold the top 6 spot for a few months.

It's a pretty decent deadline accusation by Benning.

I could see a nice platooning of that position.

I mean Zac Mac was supposed to take it last season but then saw him play and that idea was nothing but a pipe dream.

I think you will see guys in and out of that spot but at the end it will be Podz
You might laugh but they may even try Baertschi in there
