Dolphins lost but man they have a good young team with a big draft ahead of them. - golfingsince
Trending nicely. Many teams on the upswing. |

Idk how Hoffman changes that & pricier.
Your idea of 3 balanced liner are? - Nighthawk
I never suggested Hoffman, I mentioned Brassard as 3 C, that would be a start. |

Man I just realized how the 2008 NHL draft was the best draft for defensemen, maybe ever. Doughty, Pietrangelo, Karlsson, Josi, Carlson all drafted that year and all considered in the top 5 best dmen in the league at one point in their careers(Currently all easily in the top 10 best). That's crazy for one draft. |

I'm excited about having some young blood enter the team, regardless of if we take a step back.
Upgrading Tanev with Schmidt is a solid move. I hope Juolevi has a great season, and Podz and Hog have an impact when they join. Not crazy about Holtby but it's 2 years.
Still wish they hadn't signed Myers, can't wait for LE, JB and BS deals to go away. |

It seems highly likely that our top 6 this year is
Hughes - Schmidt
Edler - Myers
OJ - Hamonic
Friedman mentioning that Vancouver is his main interest. |

Don't hate it considering all the extra bodies they will probably use this year. Just don't know how they will fit them under the cap or even how the cap will work this year. |

Not sure how they are getting calspace for Hamonic and Hoffman, unless they have been made aware from the league that the taxi-squad or all the spares won't count against the cap unless they play. |

My guess is the Taxi Sqaud works like AHL, they save 1.05m space per member. They probably also know Ferland won't play, probably had the conversation with Baertschi as well. |

I think the league might be feeling some pressure from the teams that are already over the cap.
It wouldn't surprise me if they allow for one buried contract on the taxi squad.
2 of Gary's pet teams are in a cap problem, Arizona and Tampa, are 2 of the 3 top teams capwise, so I am sure he will try do something to make it work for them. |

There are multiple ways to do it painlessly. If they are looking at Hamonic they probably are not high on Benn. If they send him down there is the million you are looking for. |

Why can't they just have a 23 man roster as they normally would with normal implications and the extra players plus the taxi squad don't count against the cap. |

They could, but I am sure they have to look at precedence being set and how teams abuse this taxi-squad set-up.
As an example, Canucks could bury, Loui Beagle, Sutter Roussel Baertschi on the 24-30 player roster and sign Hamonic, Hoffman, Brassard, Vatanen.
This would be a circumvention of the cap that the NHL claims they are opposed to, hence the Luongo recapture, but nothing done about buying LTIR contracts.(hypocrites) |

Put Beagle, Sutter, Eriksson & Myers on the taxi squad and the cap problems disappear. I'm still holding out for a MTA or two. |

Nope, played almost exclusively top 6 in all playoff games and took Boesers usual spot on PP1. - NorthNuck
He didn't get into all the games and his minutes reflected his injury. I'm pretty sure Boeser had more TOI in the playoffs but I'm too lazy to look it up. Either per game or total minus played. |

Green threw Boeser on the 3rd line when TT arrived. I'd expect the same if Hoff was acquired. - boonerbuck
Boeser was injured when Toffoli arrived. Stick to the facts now. |

This. As soon as TT came around Boeser barely saw time with Petey and Miller - NorthNuck
He was injured haha, you guys really have selective memories. |

Confirmation bias, but coincidently enough, while he was injured, he didn't play much with Miller |

My old neighbor was a head programmer at EA Vancouver, I complained about sim time over and over again. In 2020 it got much better, if you can pick up a copy of that vintage you'll be pleased. - Pres.cup

Yeah, I turned it back to hockey.
Teams on the upswing in the AFC are the Dolphins, Bills, Browns. In the NFC that Washington front 7 is unreal. Aside from that Rhule and Judge look like good hires.
Edit: than X pick yesterday was unreal, 9 on the season. |
