Anyways.
I'd rather get back to hockey talk.
Big no to hassle-hoff. TM
I don't like his attitude.

I liked the helmet.
I don't think it's racist, but I just think there are proper ways to consult indigenous people and include them in the decision making process. - dbot
Decision making process?
This is a case of a person putting native art on his goalie mask as a tribute. You should have to go through a decision making process with a culture to do something that is fully intended as a show of respect? At some point this stuff just becomes bullying. Do what we say or we'll unleash the media on you...

Did this make the salish style art that I learned from a native in school cultural appropriation? Am I no longer allowed to draw in this manner?
Am I not allowed to sell my art?
Why would they have taught it if white people were not allowed to use the style?
I'm sorry but it's ridiculous, it's publicity, are all the chiefs upset? No, most don't care, one does so it's front page news. Yes, it is sjw virtue signaling to parrot how it's horrible, if anything having a famous player wear that styled of helmet brings recognition to the culture. - Pres.cup
Now they are working on banning the word 'tribal...

I'm beginning to wonder if Vantel has become a ghost. Tried to respond to his latest post but it suddenly disappeared and then this site crashed. Spooky.
Anyway, if you're reading from the great beyond..... NHLPA. |

Moving money out. Ferland on LTIR
Trading someone away, at a cost. 6M for a season cost TML a 1st. 4M for Staal cost NyR a 2nd.
2-4M still reliable players were getting 4th round picks.
Might be able to get a 5th for Roussel?
3rd for Virtanen?
If Ferland goes on LTIR, and LE and Baertschi are demoted. Plus adding two defensemen at 1.5M
Still looking at around 2.9M max. Unless they have someone else up.... - manvanfan
I am trying to figure out why a team needs to carry 23 -26 players and a taxi squad?
Why not carry a 20 man roster and a taxi squad? You can only dress 20 players a game . You would still have 4 players in the press box if an injury happened and they definitely will.

just out of curiousity, what if the people who invented the collared shirt/ pants/ dress shoes, etc... became offended that people who didn't wear them as part of their culture were appropriating their culture?
would you be ok with forcing through public shaming these other people to stop appropriating those cultural items?
just curious who far you're willing to go with the cultural appropriation thought process. can you explain this concept, I might not understand it correctly and I don't want to inadvertently offend anyone here.
Also, does this apply to sports, like hockey, should people who's culture didn't invent the sport, be playing it or does this "cultural appropriation" concept not extend that far.
I'm looking forward to your detailed explanation. Thanks. - MisterBrown
People have been stealing indigenous art to go and sell for literally two centuries. It wasn’t ok then, it isn’t ok now. |

You’re not paying attention! The point is some white guy getting paid thousands of dollars by taking other people’s art. If you look at any of the articles, the outcry is actually toward the artist not Holtby. |
