We went over this yesterday-
I listed 10 goalies better than Hutton who have changed teams this offseason
Hutton didn’t maniacally become unplayable in the last few weeks. He was unplayable while other teams did things about their goalie situation.
Sabres didn’t do a thing - sbroads24
Cause im sure they don't want to with the cap bs. Really no goalie under 4mill thats worth it. TG at 34, no thx. |

I think you hit on the crux of the problem. 8M for Hall gobbled up the rest of our cap. It has to be money out money in. If this is so blatantly obvious to us fans then management, you would think, understands this as well. Finding a deal or deals to make this happen is another story. - Bufsaints8
The only way to do it without paying to get rid of Hutton is to find a goalie for under $1m. Or sign Miller, Anderson or Howard to an over-35 bonus laiden contract. $1m base salary with performance bonuses. And eat the overage next year (again) |

Canadian teams playing in the US would certainly benefit Buffalo in regards to re-alignment. - Bufsaints8
That’s interesting
Fingers crossed |

Maybe the problem is that we can’t get rid of Hutton??? |

My hopeful line combo for this year
Hall-Eichel-Cozenfranker
Skinner-Stall-Skunk
Olofsson-Mittlefats-Thompson
Girgensons-Lazar-Okposo
Dahlin-Joker
Montour-Risto
McCabe-Miller - Carubba-Kaleta
Yeah, Mitts coming in and beating out Eatkids would be great. And that 1st D pair is my choice too. |

I tried to tell ppl his ceiling was a checking line center
Remember when so many here thought he’d be our Captain?! Craziness - jdfitz77
I still remember Matthew Coller on WGR going on and on about Girgensons when he was in Rochester saying he wouldn't trade him for the first overall pick in the draft (McKinnon draft)
People fell in love with him.
I will say this, he does have some skill but it's not consistent
He is in a good role here, just overpaid |

If they can use the taxi squad as a cap loophole and bury him there, that would work to clear up space. I doubt it'll work like that though.
Columbus has space. Maybe they'd part with a goalie and take Hutton but that would cost beaucoup Murrancy - jcragcrumple
Hutton could be an allstar if he played for Columbus or the islanders.
Fan vote all star like the locomotive |

56 game schedule- what numbers make locomotive "fairly" paid. Or not overpaid?
What goal/point total qualifies 2.2 🤔

I don't see a 56 game schedule happening at all
But in his last 5 seasons he hasn't hit 20 points he was at 19 last year with 69 games and he usually plays 72 games per season.
But in a 48 game schedule I'd like to see 15 points to not deem him overpaid |

I think that's a very reasonable post 🤝
There's alot more talent on this squad (hall, stahl, cozens), and he's definitely not going to be paired with Larry any longer.
Really no excuse to not hit 15 in 48. |

Mitts will stay in Rochester. Just my opinion. I don’t see him cracking the lineup without cause (injury or exceptional play in Rochester) |

Don’t get me wrong,
I fully appreciate that he’s buying in to being a good defensive player- and I’m glad we kept him
It’s just funny to me that so many had such high hopes for the guy....
and bc he couldn’t meet those unrealistic (imo) expectations- now so many just utterly hate the guy
It wasn’t too long ago that ppl on here were telling me that him & Okposo & Larsson should be waived & sent down to Rochester
The overreactions here are quite laughable

2OA Sam is a disappointment but 14oa, try-hard Gus is "good in his role" because he makes a lot of noise when he misses checks |
