Something tells me that if Adams landed a goalie but not a 2C, that there would be an equally vociferous outpouring of angst and anger from some fans.

Is the bar so low for this team that it has to be one or the other?

The new GM has had 9 months to figure out who Brandon Beane thinks is a good goalie

Maybe. Who knows what's available and what's the cost?

And if they like the prospect

The one scrimmage they played together wasn’t available to the public.

Cozens was named assistant captain today though so that’s always nice to see

Do you not realize the situation the league is even in? There hasn't been a meaningful trade since October when the free agency opened.

Once season start is announced there will be some action, and I'f Adams has something left, he should be involved. Gonna be players available, including goalies that could help this team.

Didn't he have a "Free" hashtag or something like that?
- Michael Pachla

Sorry, not following....He would be a free addition that we wouldn't have to give up assets for?

They were good enough to stay on the same line together for the last week or so.

Well cozens obviously would stay. It’s more or less on Quinn to produce to stay on that line.

No but I'm definitely going to drop the $30+ Needed for SlingTV because I am very curious. Also, USA!

Canadian teams playing in the US would certainly benefit Buffalo in regards to re-alignment.

Harborcenter could easily accommodate a few teams. Put up a rink at Sahlen Field and play some games outside, weather permitting.

We went over this yesterday-

I listed 10 goalies better than Hutton who have changed teams this offseason

Hutton didn’t maniacally become unplayable in the last few weeks. He was unplayable while other teams did things about their goalie situation.

Sabres didn’t do a thing

I think out door games have been in the back of the pegula's mind since they purchased the Bill's.

If the Sabres were actually really good , they could draw 35,000 -40,000 at the Ralph. Especially leads, habs, bruins, rangers and flyers.

We had the 28th ranked PK.

We scored more goals then the Dallas Stars last season and they played in the cup final.

We played a heavily defensive system like they did as well. Their goaltending duo made the saves that ours didn’t.

The Sabres scored more goals then our closest comparables in style of play last year in CBJ, NYI, and DAL yet they made the playoffs and we didn’t.

Our goalies should have had much better numbers considering we were top 7 in the league in reducing high danger scoring opportunities. Ullmark had a .935 Sv % at even strength last year because we basically put up a wall in front of the guy.

However when you look at their individual analytical statistics they both ranked in the bottom half of the league in stopping high danger opportunities.

So basically any good scoring chance the other team would have on a nightly basis would go in, despite us reducing those said chances at a premium rate.

We will score more goals this year, probably give up more too unless Ullmark can start bailing out the defence instead of crumbling when he isn’t facing a harmless shot from the blue line that has a low probability of going in.

- Pegullaville

Just as a point of interest the Sabres were awful when it came to an important stat, that is blocking shots. Other than McCabe there were too many guys just getting in the way as a screen or deflecting shots into their own net. High danger area or not they should block it or get out of the way period.

Probably a goalie would go out in order to bring a goalie in so they don't have to stomach a $1.75 dead cap hit on Hutton to bury him in minors. Nobody is trading for Hutton. If he is indeed immovable which i suspect he is, it has to be a cheap goalie. Invite someone for a PTO maybe. I think that guy is probably Tokarski.

Or trade Risto for picks (not going to happen) and bring in a goalie. Or trade Ullmark for a different goalie

Any goalie brought in without removing Hutton is basically equal to that salary + $1.75 in dead Hutton cap hit. It's almost unworkable

Good teams with good management figure it out.

The Sabres are a bad team with bad management

Saying it's it's impossible to do something about Carter Hutton and his under 3 mil cap hit is ludicrous (not saying you're claiming it's impossible)

I think you hit on the crux of the problem. 8M for Hall gobbled up the rest of our cap. It has to be money out money in. If this is so blatantly obvious to us fans then management, you would think, understands this as well. Finding a deal or deals to make this happen is another story.

If they can use the taxi squad as a cap loophole and bury him there, that would work to clear up space. I doubt it'll work like that though.

Columbus has space. Maybe they'd part with a goalie and take Hutton but that would cost beaucoup Murrancy

Be patient with Girgensons

It usually takes 8 seasons before goal scoring skill starts to shine through

I tried to tell ppl his ceiling was a checking line center

Remember when so many here thought he’d be our Captain?! Craziness
