I hate to be fatalistic but I dont see a path for the Sabres unless "division" rivals suffer key injuries. If they were in the west, they're the 3 seed. The lack of inter-league play and no wild cards is a killer

He’s finished top7 in Vezina voting in each of the last 2years

Comparing him to a career backup in Hutton is utterly ridiculous

If Kuemper is that top 5 goalie in the league the price to acquire him will be high. To me it makes little or no sense to make that move now.

Well they were playing a defensive system at 5v5 but with the player personnel they have brought in this offseason it looks like they may open it up a bit.

Ullmark will have to take a huge step forward to maintain those numbers he put up last year in that case as he will be facing more high danger scoring chances.

The biggest problem with this team by far was the lack of consistent secondary scoring That has been fixed. No need to do more at this point.

They could have let him walk and went after a guy like Kuemper but they didn’t. You can blame whoever you want about last year but it changes nothing.
