You’re still comparing a Vezina caliber starter with a career backup
That’s ridiculous

I’ll take a “system goalie” who’s Vezina quality over the upper30s scrubs you’re suggesting any day

thank god your not the gm

kuemper was a 1 year full time starter

kuemper played 85 games in the last 2 years and is sooooo much better then hutton with the 61 games

sell the farm for the next jim carey

minus the hardware

He's 31 with 34 career NHL games played.

I just don't understand it

Might as well start to think about what team wants Hall at the deadline

The goaltending and doing absolutely nothing about the defense will be the death of a really solid top 9

- sbroads24

but look at his stats he owned the AHL last year...

So if 1 report doesn’t result in a trade then they’re ALL false?
More ridiculous logic sir

Is everything you’ve said here 100% ???

- jdfitz77

nobody has a freaking clue, which is my point

for 2 years sabres fans were touting risto as a kaberle like return we heard from leaf fans because so and so and so and so said they were being shopped

now some assume we are going after a goalie

just like everyone was saying the sabres were going to get lean, they didn't

but hey we would have taken colin white if we did not trade for lehner

Comparing the stats from a BACKUP on a really good team like StL
VS
The stats from a STARTER on a TERRIBLE team
is looking at it from an extremely flawed perspective

It’s been widely reported that Buffalo was looking to improve the goaltending,
so acting like it’s not on their minds is ridiculous

No one is making trades right now
It’s even tougher than in year’s past apparently
Doesn’t mean they aren’t trying

- jdfitz77

The season is less than 30 days away. They haven't played hockey in 9 months.

There were trades happening when teams were in the bubble, there were trades at the draft, during FA (where they also could've done something), Vogl reported the Sabres were likely to keep the goalies, when I mentioned it then, you said the exact same thing.

You were wrong then, calling it an over reaction and saying there's still a ton of time, and looking like you're wrong again.

This is exactly why people hate engaging you. You like to call all of us ridiculous while being wrong the entire time.

Clown just admit defeat to Fitz Hutton had 1 good season and then fell right off. Kuempers had 2 in a row. Both can stay away from this team. Ride Ullmark at 27 get some better Defense. We should actually have some secondary scoring which means more zone time for the Sabres and less work on the Kid. Goalies take longer than any other position to develop and I really feel Ullmark could 'break out" with some better players infront of him.

At the very least, they looked into it
You’re acting like they’ve ignored the situation with your constant over the top ranting

Should they have met ARZ’s demands & traded two 1sts for Kuemper?

Should they have made a trade they felt was bad?

That’s too risky when considering failed results will almost certainly cause Hall to leave, & a chance that Eichel asks out

I’d rather trade for the guy who’s finished in the top7 of Vezina voting the last 2 seasons than to HOPE for Ullmark to be a late bloomer

Also I don't think goaltending would be the reason a forward like Hall would leave. If goaltending is the reason they're losing games it can easily be upgraded when everything becomes normal again.

If we can’t do it THIS season,
there’s no guarantee we can do it next season

Everyone here acts like trades are made just like in their video games

Its a prayer either way. What if Kuemper is a system goalie? What if Ullmark goes off next year?

Doesnt have to be a trade. I dont know the goalie market next offseason but WE just signed Taylor freakin' Hall. We can sign anyone now

If that’s the logic you’re gonna go by,
then why not Johansson winning the Vezina this year?
I mean, “anything is possible” right???

I’ll stake my hopes on a “system goalie” who gets Vezina votes the last 2 seasons over a 27year old who has never even had ONE good nhl season

I think it’s safe to assume Hall walks if we finish picking in the top10 again
This season is our chance to show him we can win here
I don’t think we get another

He didn't play horrible last year. We literally had one line and our D was something else.

I didn’t say Ullmark played horrible

And ppl have posted stats here that show our defense is better than you & sbroads are giving credit for,
and it was our goaltending that let us down-
especially on the PK

Also.... if we bring back the same defense,
then why bring back the same goaltending as well?
Aren’t u just asking for failure again in that case?

At the end of the day,
there’s no logical debate over Kuemper vs Ullmark
And absolutely ridiculous to compare him & Hutton, who was pretty terrible

Whos making trades right now? When even was the last trade, Or signing? Its a tight time right now. Ullmark is 27 years young. Kuemper at 27 put up the same numbers. Now we get older and hopefully a good second line he should be able to keep bringing his numbers up he went up 6% from 2 years ago to last year and the players infront of him have been upgraded im going to say he atleast hits .920 this year. Frank the metro division.

Goaltending was not the reason our PK was so horrible. And we should get some better defense we have to many offensive dmen, not enough grit back there.

It’s obviously not impossible that Ullmark could have a break out season, but it’s not likely

Why risk the season on someone who hasn’t had that breakout- and might not ever-
vs someone who has had that breakout & is one of the better goalies in the league??

If it makes u feel better....
don’t trade Ullmark
Keep him AND trade for Kuemper
