what if casey comes into camp lean and focused?
- homiedclown

There's definitely a chance of casey turning his career around and take it seriously.

Why now? How many chances does ralph give a guy?

Doesnt seem like they have a spot for him, or that he plays a krueger "non skilled " grinder role.

Basically if your not grinding or scoring, no spot for you!

I would love to be wrong and have Casey be top 6 or even top 9. Better start scoring or bringing something.

Top 10 picks always have trade value, when your 21 still

Who came off a season of .931 Sv%.

This past year under a defensive minded coach it was .898

Adams and his "numbers based approach" can see those numbers are team killing, right? Or does Beane have to confirm first

A lot of what Botterill did looked reasonable at the time. Almost none of it actually worked. Signing a backup goalie for 3 years turned out to be a really bad idea. Now Adams has to figure out how to make him disappear or hope that Hutton got this figured out:

Apart from Skinner, nothing negative Botts has done effects us past this season.

Hutton was not the answer unfortunately but it’s better then having Bob signed for another 5-6 years.

He’s honestly the scape goat we needed but don’t deserve.

Can’t wait for Cozens, Dahlin, and Joker to kick this retool into overdrive.

If Hutton is unplayable again and it ruins the season, it's far worse than not getting a 2C.

At least Botterill draft Mitts 8th overall and there was a shot he was going to be good.

Adams is just ignoring two goalies who aren't NHL starters, when there was a flooded goalie market

- sbroads24

I think its fair to have ullmark earn a spot.
We've put alot of time, $ into his development.

He's kinda a 1B / 2A type guy with a few years of nhl experience.

Hutton , unless he truly couldn't see last year, needs to go.

Tough to trade someone based on an injury season.

I'm all for raanta or kuemper. ☝️

I’d give up Ullmark as a piece to get Kuemper

I'll let someone else argue about JB. I did enough of it for a year and a half. The guy sucked and he's unemployed now. Maybe he can go into the horse racing business with Murray. They can name their horse Raw Deal. Guaranteed to finish last

This is a simple fix-

Get any backup goalie who won't go on stretches where they don't win games for months.

Waive Hutton

Why are other teams able to figure out the simplest poop?

Why does every GM we hire look like a complete idiot making the easiest decisions possible?

Oh Carter Hutton legitimately couldn't play last year? Yeah he probably shouldn't play this upcoming season. Eh, (frank) it let's let him play

why, for another hutton?

errr system goalie

- homiedclown

Kuemper is a top5-ish goalie in the league
He’s finished top7 in Vezina voting in each of the last 2years

Comparing him to a career backup in Hutton is utterly ridiculous

I feel thats a little high, Kuemper was about the same goalie at 27.

Tough to say what gets it done
If we’re taking out the 1st (I’m assuming that’s the part i think is too high), then make it a 2nd and add some more pieces

I’d be ok with losing Ullmark,
bc we’ve got UPL on the way

I’d obviously rather have Ullmark backing up Kuemper than Hutton,
but i was just throwing another scenario out there

I assume Tokarski will have a shot at Hutton's job. He has an NHL contract

I'd give up ullmark for kuemper, not sure about the 1st?
Casey and a 3rd maybe instead of the 1st?

Maybe a 2024 protected 1st .

Seems like a lot, although ullmark should appeal to Arizona, being young and cheap....

I don’t wanna give up the 1st,
but if that’s what it takes then I’d do it

We’re just wasting Hall imo if we go with our current tandem
Especially in this year’s tough division

He's 31 with 34 career NHL games played.

I just don't understand it

Might as well start to think about what team wants Hall at the deadline

The goaltending and doing absolutely nothing about the defense will be the death of a really solid top 9

Johansson is a possibility as well
And maybe by mid season UPL is looking like he’s ready for call up duty

It’s been widely reported that Buffalo was looking to improve the goaltending,
so acting like it’s not on their minds is ridiculous

No one is making trades right now
It’s even tougher than in year’s past apparently
Doesn’t mean they aren’t trying

read my post

hutton was a system goalie for the blues
kuemper is a system goalie for the yotes

hutton's stats for blues were actually better then kuemper as a yote

but lets give up a first and sell the farm for another system goalie

better off waiving hutton if he is not focused and signing howard or anderson and playing ullmark 2/3 of the time and howard or anderson 1/3

LD is a hot mess behind dahlin

we have seen enough of mccabe, miller, risto and montour to know what they are, and are not

going into this shortened season with the same guys is perplexing

sticking with hutton and ullmark makes sense if you fixed the d and like what they bring but to do nothing at either position is odd

You’re still comparing a Vezina caliber starter with a career backup
That’s ridiculous

I’ll take a “system goalie” who’s Vezina quality over the upper30s scrubs you’re suggesting any day

So if 1 report doesn’t result in a trade then they’re ALL false?
More ridiculous logic sir

I kinda agree with you, it's a make or break season with eichel. That 1st might be top 10 again.

Although, I get the idea that dahlin takes a huge step and gives the pegula's a ticket salesman.
Allowing us to build around his 8 year contract and the plethora of picks and players from the ranger's.

What I heard, was there were some serious formal mechanics discussed with trading eichel. Not just kicking tires. It's all laid out....... ready and waiting.

Obviously wasnt happening this year

I don’t see any way we’re picking in the top10 if we have Kuemper
