I would have to think the cap rules for the taxi squad are the same for the minors. You'd probably save $1 million by waiving and moving him there.

Well from what I have heard is they are still in contact with each other. And a trade almost happened awhile back but one of the prospects offered was turned down. He just couldn't stop eating Bon Bon's.

It's been discussed a few times here, but to keep it short, the money we have available right now allows for last year's overages as well as potential bonuses this year. As some of those bonuses are likely to not be fulfilled, the remaining space can be used for a Rochester callup for one or two of our players hitting DTD status.

Still very intrigued to see Casey at training camp. He needs to have taken the offseason extremely seriously.

If you want Kuemper (keep in mind the system he plays in is extremely beneficial to goalies), you need to pay them to take Hutton back. Certainly not a first, but maybe a Borgen and a mid pick, along with Hutton.

B) is something we are in total disagreement with
There’s a difference between ideally having extra cap space for bonuses, etc and actually “needing” space to get under the cap
But to satisfy your question (bc it’s annoying when i pose questions & ppl just twist things & ignore them)- i would trade Montour for prospect(s) &/or pick(s) to replace some of what i had to give up for Kuemper

A) i hate the “what would u give up” question, bc ppl will inevitably just argue & say that your idea is “not enough” or stupid, etc- but NONE OF US really have much of a clue what young pieces ARZ wants & what Adams would be willing to give up
But again, to give u an answer:
basically whatever it takes that’s not Cozens, Quinn or UPL- & I’d try not to give up Ruotsalainen
So that means the main piece going back would have to be a 1st
I would also try not to give up another 1st on top of that- they supposedly wanted two 1sts for him at the draft
So I’d be willing to do a 1st +
For the plus: Mitts? A combo of young players or prospects like Tage, Asplund, Samuelsson, Laaksonen, Ryan Johnson.... I’m ok with that too
Since we have UPL coming:
what if they like Ullmark?
Could Ullmark + a 1st do it?
I’d feel a lot better about using Hutton for 12ish games if i had Kuemper for 40-45games
OR
Get really crazy & trade for Kuemper AND Raanta
Give up our tandem, Ullmark & Hutton, & they still save a few millions. Maybe even hold some Cap if possible?
Then add that 1st round pick & whatever other prospects & picks necessary


At the end of the day,
My thoughts on getting Kuemper come down to this:
We’ve obviously decided to “go for it” this season by signing Hall
So if we wanna keep him long term, & Eichel,
it just seems pointless to do so with the goaltending tandem we have now
I just don’t trust them
And Kuemper is the one name out there that i would trust
