Piqueur, Adam.....what's the low down on Sean Farrell?

5'9", 174lbs, LW, playing USHL because the NCAA team he was supposed to play for (Harvard) cancelled the season, drafted in the 4th round in 2020. Potential to be decent? They say he slipped because of his size...

Any thoughts on Jakub Dobes and his awesome USHL start?
- Takemedrunkimhome

Haven't seen a USHL game since January 2020 Couldn't tell you. 19 going on 20 and just 6 games, a little early to tell with goalies.

Another undersized forward, more of a playmaker than a goal scorer.

What's fun with him is that they will have time to see him develop before making a decision.

Committed to Harvard next season

Oh I was pretty damn tongue in cheek. "Hey, we've got a goalie prospect in a super minor league doing great with a tiny sample size - he'll be great trade bait for a 2nd, maybe a 1st if he keeps this up"

Caufield called him a steal when drafted which doesn't mean anything...but there's that

Yeah, could be a sleeper pick.

Caufield got poopted on because he called him a steal on twitter, but it mainly was because he's friends with him as they both played for USNDP.

Social media has become so toxic.

I think it was fine in it's very early stage. Where people would just add their friends to communicate. Basically a better MSN messenger.

Now it's a goddamn monster.

Still no idea how it could work money wise.

Which is why we see all this fuss between players and owners now. And the owners want the players to do more. Why would they lose that much money for a whole season, if not more?

i haven't even been following the financial aspect. but just logistically... they've already missed the window for a full season. anything now will have to be shortened. and tbh if they're gonna have a Canadian division, doesn't make sense to have the season be anything more than 50 games.

It would bring back good memories of when the SouthEast Division was 1 good team punking on a bunch of poop piles.

If you track his numbers (WJC disaster aside), he's on pace to be the goal scoring version of Johnny Gaudreau. Really can't ask for more.

I get why casual fans would be skeptical of a small player who only has his skills to go on. People love to pump up the grinders etc. because it's easier to think a hit on a guy is worth more than a failed scoring attempt. Reminds me of the hilarious poop about Nylander vs Ritchie at the draft. You'd think a fanbase with Tinordi and McCarron in recent memory would be wary of poopting on skill vs size in the first round.

I for one, am very happy with his selection, if he was 3 inches taller he was a top 5 selection

I guess it's hard to precisely determine how much money the league would be losing by not playing at all, but it's not in anyone's interest to cancel the season while all other pro sports are playing

People need to give him time. He's going to need some seasoning in Laval as well. Things are not ideal right now, but at least he's playing. Majority of NCAA divisions haven't started playing yet, and the season may be in jeopardy.

As for the NHL, I'm not holding my breath. I hope they will resume as quickly as possible, because well...at least I'll have something to watch during the cold and boring lonesome winter I'm about to go into.

I don't give a (frank) about their stupid labor issues though. Just get it done.

That was a weird weekend. Badgers were missing 4 of their regulars. 3 who are in quarantine because they have in close contact with someone with Covid, and Dylan Holloway who is with Team Canada's WJC selection camp right now.

Badgers were horrible for the two games. The defense can't make a good first pass, and the forwards all played individually. They were way too easy to play against yesterday.

It's going to be a tough season for Caufield, he's not going to have much support.

- stinger67

Could be good for him, he's going to have to become a more complete player just not a one-dimensional sniper. Could improve his D play and playmaking skills

I like reading posts like this one because I don't have to write it all myself.
just have to write : agreed.

as for Caufield, let see if he can succeed at the next level which is Laval. no need to bring him to Mtl until he dominates in the AHL.
