Testing is theoretically free in the US (some people get (frank)ed if they go to out of network providers). What Penn is doing is providing access to testing to underserved communities.

Of course the bigger issue is that everyone who has had Covid now has a pre-existing condition and is in danger of losing their insurance. Who knows what uninsured people are doing.

Your larger point of the ultra scoring points and tax breaks is true. I treat people who actually roll up their sleeves and do poop differently.

But ultimately, tax the rich.

Here’s another one. Records from Purdue’s bankruptcy hearing show that as part of the plan to “turbocharge” Oxytocin sales McKinsey consulting was proposing offering rebates to pharmacies whose customers overdosed. It’s not clear if it happened but the Sacklers liked the idea and they talked about how maybe they should destroy the materials on this.

Other stuff coming out dealt with strategies to counter the emotional response of mothers of dead teenagers and fighting the FDA over providing training to pharmacists on how addictive the drug was.

The Sacklers were considered pillars of the community. They had museums named after them, gave to all the best charities.

If the rich are actually good people they’d advocate of the rich to pay higher taxes. It’s asisine how little taxes Bezos or Trump pays. Idk if Penn is doing this to score brownie points without jesus of whatever, but I’m not buying it. Good for him, but he shouldn’t have to do this. His time would be better spent pushing for higher taxes on the rich, universal healthcare, and a UBI.

I agree. A couple of things sleepy Joe has going for him, he has an high level of established decency, making him a good candidate to undo some of the serious foreign policy damage Trump has done. The other is, he has surrounded himself with experts and people smarter than he is, especially Harris. Comparing her to Pence would be like comparing Einstein to Forrest Gump.
