He’s been tricked into believing he’s a #1 center.

So he feels he’s not being paid #1 center money.

That’s the sacrifice.

Just a guess here..

I could see that false argument now, but 3 years ago?

Season before he signed he had 25 points in 52 games, the year before he had 40 in 82

I'm just not sure what money he thinks those numbers left on the table

If he's not happy, (frank) him. It'd be nice to keep him, but he's saying all of the wrong things right now and the way he tried to spin the defensive roles thing reeks of bs. If he thinks he's worth well north of six, he's better off elsewhere.

Choosing him over Domi was a mistake imo, but we’ll see..

don't be mad bro...Danault has been a very very good player for the HAbs but he will either agree to what Bergy wants to pay him or leave (trade bait end of 21)...this is pretty easy math...the HAbs will need $ to hold onto KK and Suzuki and a few others....Caufield on fire....I see him in Montreal in the Spring of 2021.

I think it's because he could've had more money, but also more term, taking a 3-year contract instead of 4 or 5 years

He agreed to the contract and honestly I don't even think he was all that underpaid. If anyone has grounds to complain it was Gallagher getting 4 million for a long time, but he didn't whine.

yup, knowing how MTL media and fans dissect and analyze every word he should've kept his mouth shut about that. he did come back on what he had said a few months ago concerning his role as an offensive player, saying that the day he would become strictly a defensive player is the day he would stop trying to get better... anyways if he's looking for around 5M they'll probably get something done, but if he's asking for 6M+ he's most likely gone, although I'm not even sure other teams will be willing to pay that in the current context
