A lockout during a pandemic would be so NHL.

In the sense that it wouldn't be unexpected but it would be for all of the wrong reasons?

Is there ever going to be meaningful international hockey again?

I feel like McDavid and Matthews are getting screwed out of a chance to achieve some of the important hockey hardware they need to cement their status as all time greats..

A lockout because if the pandemic seems closer, especially if some teams think they’re going to lose money anyway. If there’s even less $ on the table, it’s going to get ugly.

The only thing missing to put the plan in motion is for the owner of the Coyotes to find a gold mine.

I can understand both sides, the owners are losing money and the NHL doesn't have the best TV deal. The players had to make a lot of concessions in July for the return to play format to begin and are now being asked to make more concessions.

So, yeah... It's going to get ugly

They're both going to have to face reality and cut a deal, imo - split the massive hit the industry is taking. Players will need to move off expecting their contracts paid in full. And do it sooner than later. Deep sixing the entire season will have disastrous longer term ramifications, possibly few teams and fewer jobs. People will simply move on from hockey.

If you don't count the qualifying round vs Pittsburgh (I would, but I also consider the Leafs made the playoffs so...)

2015.

It's been far too long.

I agree.. I do think that both sides will have to realize that this is gonna hurt.. The sooner the better, because losing a season to a lock out would be damaging..

Eventually, things will go back to what they were before the pandemic. Players and owners will start making money again soon..

Bettman loves REM too eh? Maybe the Coyotes can acquire Gardiner, Gormley, Franson and Runblad. What's the Frequency, Gary?

2014, lost in conference finals because Kreider injured Price.

Oh and we beat Boston in round 2.

We always beat Boston, it's in the rules.
