On the lockout, a number of owners were reluctant to go ahead with season because they were going to lose more than they were going to make. (I think this was from Lebrun.) Gary talked them into it saying going dark for a year would be disastrous. Looks like they’ll push for more concessions but I can’t see players being too excited to tear up deal they just signed.

Idk. The later this thing goes, the farther this season wraps around into spring/summer, the less people will watch anyway. This time of year, now until mid April is when I want to hunker and watch hockey. After that, unless for some miraculous reason our Leafs actually win a first round series, I'm done. They need to get this thing on the ice asap or just throw in the towel.

I loved hockey in the summer. Watching the game outside on the deck with the BBQ going is something I can very easily get used to.

Im with fifty as well.
Once the nice weather hits, unless by some miracle the leafs are deep in the playoffs, i have better things to do then watch hockey.

But i dont see the nhl going past june anyway.

You don't have to be "any different", though to say all of those southern fanbases are "doing just fine" is a stretch. I'm just saying that tv numbers for summer hockey this past year were....not good....so it's not just me that feels this way.
