So if u were worth 500,000.... (house, car, income, etc)
you’d be ok just tossing away 4k?
I wouldn’t

And they’ve already lost a ton of $$$ on the Sabres

It’s not gonna hurt them,
but that doesn’t mean they should be happy about losing more $$$ again

- jdfitz77

From a pure numerical standpoint, this is an accurate correlation. However, the difference between $500k, which is upper middle class, and $5.1B, which is sheer wealth is light years

If each team lost 45 million dollars then the league itself would lose in the neighborhood of 1.3-1.4 billion dollars. That is a big frggen donation for our entertainment. and some players who may not insure themselves and peoples' supplemental income.

Either way, it’s not life altering or life changing for them. And like I stated before, the top 1% has found ways to actually profit off of Covid

At least 23 NHL owners are billionaires as of 2018

half the leagues owners are worth over 2 billion.

It’s literally a drop in the bucket to lose 30-40 mil and keep an NHL season and employ hundreds of front office, arena employees

Like Trump, much of the wealth of many other owners is not liquid. Forbes estimates wealth at what they own, not just cash on hand so losing 45 mil is a big deal even for really rich ones.

Last I saw the Bills fell to a 1 point underdog. WTF is up with that? They are 8-3 and a 5-6 team is now a favorite against them? I don't care if the 49ers are home, LV must not be respecting all those Bills wins as awesome as people in Buffalo are.

You think the gamblers are weighing some differently configured teams about their MNF tendencies? Maybe some I guess a percentage. I guess that would lower the Bills SB odds in the future as well from teams of 30 years ago.

San Fran is a bad matchup IMO. They’re a run heavy PA team and on D they have the corners to matchup against Diggs

I honestly like the Pitt game more as crazy as it sounds

I really don't think it is all that crazy, I agree San Fran is a horrible matchup for us as well.

They run very well and while the Bills have improved there, it's going to be a very good test

They are pretty beat up at corner actually this week. The only way they beat us is if we just can't stop the run.

It's because people are putting a ton of money on the 49ers. They need more money on the Bills to cover their potential losses. Point spreads are there to entice bettors to place bets, they are not what the book believes the gap will be.

They have Sherman and Verrette healthy though. Both are excellent

It should be a Beasley game

Yeah, the 49’ers are just a solid team and Mullens is a very good backup.

It’s going to be a 20-17 score type game IMO

They still can't cover all are weapons. Neither one of those CB's can cover Diggs 1on1. Looking at Beasley, Davis and maybe Knox shows up for a game. Guess we will see soon enough.

Its not.

The Pegula’s are worth 5.1 bil

45 mil equates to .008% of their wealth

Nothing

- sbroads24

While this might be true ...... how much cash do they actually have currently? They might be cash poor right now

A lot of their money is tied up in the Sabres, bills, and other pegula entities.

Excellent zone running scheme. Any running back they use could have a good game. Mostert is elite when healthy

I’m gonna go with enough to not effect anything in their long term plans.

I get it, who wants to lose money? But the people I feel 0 empathy for are billionaires

And I’m not some anti-capitalist Bernie-bro, but the richest .01% of this country can take a little hit so that the fans and employees who spend money or work for them can have an NHL season.

Of course,
but $45mil is a significant chunk of change for ANY business, no matter how rich the owner is

Sure, but the difference between the Pegula’s losing 45 mil or an average person losing their income for a year is a substantial difference.

Terry and Kim can afford it. The average person can’t
