I just don’t get how a kid can literally have the choice of living the dream of playing In the NHL yet decide to not take his career seriously.

It baffles me, he's got the talent, but someone forgot the HEART |

It sucks for the fans but some people just arent wired that way. Its easy for us to sit here and pretend we have what it takes if we were talented enough for it to simply be a choice. If he busts completely, he wouldnt be the first nor the last to hit the 'your talent alone isnt enough' wall
I still have hopes for him but its put up or get traded time. No contract yet is confusing to me, spots are drying up for him here. I wouldnt mind seeing him on the wing but no room there either. |

Just have to hope that the light kicks on. The talent is there. He looked better as the year went on in the A. |

Yup.
Kevyn Krueger have talked about "Being a Sabre", and that Embedded video showed a piece of paper that defined what that meant...but I couldn't read it...nor have I seen it identified by the Sabres...so we are left to guess. We have been given hints that it inclueds attributes normally associated with "character"...and we can see some of it in who they went after in Hall, Staal, Eakin and even in Quinn...maybe Peteka as well.
Mitts is really confusing, he showed quite a bit of drive in the WJC that year, but reports of his conditioning and skills development contrast that. Hopefully if is merely a maturity thing... but if he doesn't show up in tip top condition... man oh man I think poop is going to hit the fan.
Interesting that we haven't seen any Risto tire-flipping videos this off-season either

Hopefully the light does kick on, it hurts the team in other ways to, we are not the only ones that see it. |

I am done with Mitts, he wouldn't even be here anymore. People aren't blind, we see it, so do others. |

Looking forward to seeing some of these youngsters start coming up through the system. Should start seeing a nice flow of them coming into Rochester over the next few years. |

He is officially in Nylander territory..
Maybe KK should call Bowman, maybe they'll be willing to dump Dach, lol!

Great read, thanks for sharing.
As I read that, it reminded me of Dahlin's focus on improving his strength this offseason as well.
I think those two are going to step-up for the team rather significantly.
Meanwhile, Mitts is busy training at Paula's Donuts and playing video games to ensure his skating becomes elite! - IonSabres
100% agree with the dahlin comparison. Dahlin had a pre draft video showing some of the same stuff too.
Eichel dahlin and cozens seem to have great work ethics. Now can the others like mitts follow??

To me tooth, he is still at that point where his adrenaline gets in his way, still a kid. When that head of his catches up with the body and you can see it happening with his progression on the field, not there yet, but when it happens, watch out with that talent, should be a really fun ride. - Buff36
It’s been what .... 8 months since he’s played a real game? The world juniors will be a good indicator where he’s at physically. He honestly should dominate |

It's been five years since the Eichel draft and it's taken all of those years to begin to restock the system. That's how much GMTM gutted it. |

Hot take: Washington wins - 3rd GM's the charm
At this point, if I had the choice, I would rather Cleveland beat Tennessee.

I don't disagree that TM traded away a bunch of picks and prospects, but don't forget that JB traded away a significant number as well...several 2nds, 3rds, 5ths, 6ths, 7ths
Apparently he valued 4th rounders, lol. |

Botts’ problem is that he went all in on Mittelstadt and didn’t have a better back up plan.
Then he made brain numbingly stupid short term decisions to try to appease the fan base last year and make a run to only have us miss a 24 team playoff and have cap overage charge to boot.
