Maybe the high end defence they had to keep them within 10 points despite having a QB that had a QBR of 37.7 with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Doesn’t matter how magical those last few drives Mahomes had if they are down by 17-20 instead of 10 points.

- Pegullaville

So was it the high end defense or the running back that had 66 yards rushing until there was a minute left in the game? You are constantly changing your tune dude. First the Chiefs won LIV running all over the 49ers, so I prove you wrong, completely wrong, and now it's the high end defense that held them in the game long enough for their elite QB to be a monster in the 4th quarter?

Make up your friggin' mind man.

Nick Foles, Super Bowl LII: 28/43, 373 yards 3 TD 1 INT 106.1 Rating

Eagles 41
Patriots 33

Yeah the Jaguars suck because they traded for Foles, so I am clearly right about the run game winning Super Bowls.

Since we're playing the "if" game. "If" Mahomes wasn't the QB they easily lose the game.

I forgot the Colts and Titans played in last year's Super Bowl and beat the Chiefs in it running the ball to become first ever co-champions of the Super Bowl and also, got more money and extra rings because they did it running the ball

Ronald Jones had 7.3 yards per carry today, clearly Tampa Bay should have ran the ball more because they would have scored a field goal running the ball and tied the game.

That's what happens when you have to throw because the other team is throwing and winning...

Are you saying he should have thrown less and run more?

It's a silly argument and complete waste of time. He brought up foles 374 yds, but failed to mention the Eagles ran for 164 at a 6.1 ypc clip. I just pointed out Brady's 505 yds.

That back-up also played out of his mind and it doesn't matter how he played before or since - They won that Super Bowl because of the QB who started the game. Not because of their run game.

Foles had 3 TD passes and a TD reception in that game. The run game ran at a 6.1 clip because Foles was playing excellent. Likewise, the Patriots lost because despite Tom Brady throwing for 505 yards on 28 completions, the Patriots defense couldn't stop a back-up QB from shredding them.

I have no clue what you're trying to say, seriously. Pegulaville is saying that ground and pound wins Super Bowls. The Eagles didn't win because they ran all over the Pats and the Pats didn't lose because they didn't run all over the Eagles. Both QB's played excellent, the Eagles pass game opened up the run game for them and simply complimented their aerial attack. That Super Bowl set several records and none of them were because of the run game was dominant from either side.

I'm still not sure what the point is that you're making. Should Brady have thrown less?
