Mahomes is 2x as good now as Brady ever was. - sbroads24
Brady is the greatest QB ever.
But Mahomes will go down as the greatest QB ever when he's done. Because of the run game, of course. |

Your entire theory about winning games in today's NFL by running the football was completely blown out of the water and you're crying about it and telling the people who are calling you out for it that they're triggered. God, I swear you are worse than fitz. - 3rd GM's the charm
Cause it’s not wrong.
Go watch the Chiefs super bowl win and tell me they don’t win without the success they have on the ground and the defence holding the 49ers to 20 points.
Mahomes is the best QB in the world and yet in the biggest game of his life had one of the worst performances of his career (an average game by regular QB standards) and got the win.
In the playoffs it is imperative to be able to run the ball and you need to have a great defence and the best QB in the NFL doesn’t win every year, the best team does

They also never get there without PATRICK MAHOMES and don't win it if they don't have PATRICK MAHOMES at QUARTERBACK. |

Is it even possible to count all the Super Bowls the Detroit Lions won when they had Barry Sanders? I was young at the time, but I think they won all of them? |

The Raiders wouldn't win superbowl 18 in 1984 without 230 yards on the ground.
Can you win the Superbowl throwing the ball now? Maybe but I wouldnt want to find out |

Let me go and count how many Super Bowls over the last 20 years didn't have elite QB's playing in them... Funny how the same names keep popping up at the QB position yet no RB's seem to take their teams to multiple Super Bowls?
Also, The Washington Redskins scored 9 points in Super Bowl 18. It was the Raiders defense that won Super Bowl 18. Marcus Allen had a 74-yard run in the 3rd quarter when the game was already a blowout. So, the Raiders still win Super Bowl 18 without 230 yards rushing. |

The whole point I'm making is that by your theory, the Broncos QB shouldn't matter today because they should be able to just run all over the Saints and you continually adjust your theory in your favor every time you get called out on it by adding new clauses to it. And who cares about getting perma-banned on Hockeybuzz? I'd rather get perma-banned for being honest with myself than constantly gloat about being right when I can't even decide what exactly I'm being right about because I constantly add or subtract details in my favor. - 3rd GM's the charm
The reason I got the Flacco nickname in the first place had everything to do with my belief that you can win the big prize with average QB play as long as you have a formidable run game and defence.
I never once said you can win with a practice Squad WR turned QB as long as you run the ball or with bottom 10 QB play.
The Cleveland Browns and the LA Rams are teams that have average QB play, run the ball well, and play pretty good defence. Could probably include the Saints and Steelers as well as Brees and Big Ben are good but I’m not sure if they are top 10 QB’s at the moment.
It’s funny how you’re calling me out for how much I talk about this yet can’t even comprehend the original message and twist my words.
Tom Brady had average statistical seasons in 3 of his 6 Super Bowl victories.
Peyton Manning had a 11-13 playoff record as an “Elite” QB before 2015 where he was terrible yet carried to a second super bowl win.
Joe Flacco has as many rings as Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.
Elite QB play gets you to the playoffs and that’s essentially it unless you can run the ball and have a top quartile defence. Which is exactly the reason why the Chiefs lost in the AFC Championship game to the Pats in 2019 despite having the best QB in the world.

186 yards vs vikings
285 vs packers
and lost when it counted vs mahomes

I think he’s “calling you out” because you continually try to pat yourself on the back for point that you seem to argue with yourself about.

The Chiefs won last year's Super Bowl 31-20 and barely had a 100-yard rusher and this (frank)ing guy is on here saying they wouldn't have won without the ground and pound.
From Wikipedia:
Second half Super Bowl LIV
San Francisco took the second half kickoff and drove 60 yards in nine plays, with Emmanuel Sanders catching two passes for 20 yards, Samuel rushing for 14 yards, and Juszczyk hauling in a 14-yard reception. Gould finished the drive with a 42-yard field goal, giving the 49ers a 13–10 lead.[92] Linebacker Fred Warner intercepted Mahomes on the next drive, returning it three yards to the San Francisco 45-yard line.[92] Garoppolo started the ensuing drive with a 16-yard pass to Samuel. Three plays later, on 3rd and 8, he threw a 26-yard pass to receiver Kendrick Bourne, and then followed it up with a 10-yard pass to Juszczyk on the Chiefs 1-yard line. Raheem Mostert ran the ball into the end zone on the next play, increasing the 49ers' lead to 20–10 with 2:35 left in the third quarter.[92]
On Kansas City's next drive, they drove the ball to the 49ers 23-yard line. On a 3rd and 6, Mahomes threw a pass intended for Tyreek Hill that was slightly behind the receiver. Hill tried to reach back for it, but the ball bounced off his arm and was intercepted by cornerback Tarvarius Moore, who returned it seven yards to the 49ers 20-yard line with 11:57 left in the game.[92] After the Chiefs defense rallied to force a punt, Kansas City got the ball with 8:53 left in the game, and went on to score touchdowns on their next three drives. First, they moved the ball 62 yards in 10 plays. After a challenge by San Francisco succeeded in overturning a completed pass, the Chiefs faced 3rd and 15 with 7:13 left in the game. Mahomes called the play "Jet Chip Wasp", which resulted in a 44-yard completion from Mahomes to Hill from the Chiefs 35-yard line.[95] Two plays later, Moore committed pass interference while trying to cover tight end Travis Kelce in the end zone, moving the ball 20 yards to the 49ers one-yard line, and Mahomes threw to Kelce for a touchdown on the next play.[92] San Francisco had to punt after three plays, and Kansas City quickly stormed back for another score, advancing 65 yards in seven plays, the longest a 38-yard completion from Mahomes to Watkins.[92] On 3rd and goal from the 49ers 5-yard line, Mahomes threw the ball to Williams, who just managed to stretch the ball across the goal line before going out of bounds. The touchdown was a close call, but was upheld by a booth review, giving Kansas City a 24–20 lead with 2:44 remaining in the game.[96]
In response, San Francisco quickly drove to the Chiefs 49-yard line. After three incomplete passes, Garoppolo was sacked by Frank Clark, resulting in a turnover on downs with 1:33 left in the game. Trying to run out the clock with the ground game, Williams carried the ball on the next two plays, first picking up four yards and then went the distance for a 38-yard touchdown to increase Kansas City's lead to 31–20 with 1:12 remaining in the game.[92] Chiefs defensive back Kendall Fuller made an interception on the 49ers following drive, allowing the Chiefs to run out the clock and secure the Super Bowl, their first in 50 years and second overall.[97]

Super Bowl LIV:
Kansas City scores 21 points in the 4th quarter because their QB finally finds some holes in a fantastic 49ers defense.
With 1 minute left in the game, a RB who had 66 yards rushing the entire game, breaks a 38 yard run to score a TD when the Chiefs were already up 24-20.
