I never suggested it was a "100% go". I'm suggesting it's a very good sign.

Essentially, he's giving up a Finnish gig where he's playing a guaranteed 23 mins a night to roll the dice on making a bottom pair role on the Leafs in a COVID-19 postponed season.

That's quite a gamble and it leads me to believe it's calculated at much better than 50/50 odds that it will happen.

As I understand it, Jokerit is shutting down home games with fans in the stands. There are a couple of upcoming home games that are still on tap though it will be under the new fan-less restriction. Which is to say: I think Johnston has got it wrong.

Ehh... I disagree.

Too much to lose if they decide to cancel this season. There will be hockey in some fashion in the New Year though I think the only long shot here is starting the season on Jan 1st.
