I'm wondering if this season is lost, will the players contracts be tolled a year? Or will they remain? Remember after the lockout in 2004/05 the NHL returned and player contracts were tolled a year.

What I’ve read so far is that contracts, under the current CBA, can’t be renegotiated. There was a “blip” yesterday saying that owners want a new CBA. I’m assuming they would use it to clear the decks somehow. As for tolling, anything is possible. The deferment will be paid back over the next three seasons without interest. If cutting salaries 43% (escrow plus defer) isn’t enough, tolling won’t work. It means the deficit is worse than I thought. Teams already paid bonuses and the first checks. Something is off in a big way
