So Hutton wouldn't be a fine 2nd pair partner for Pionk? Not any better than Forbort?
Wheeler for Erik Karlsson is never happening much like the dreamed about Pietrangelo signing was never happening so idk why anyone would ever suggest such a thing. - JetFuel
No, because Hutton offers a lot of the same qualities as Pionk, albeit with more balance.
Pionk needs a play driver, like Heinola which is why it worked for those games, but the Jets are settling for a babysitter instead. |

Sbisa was just as bad last year as he was his entire career. Beaulieu is useful as a #6, but can’t play his offside. Doesn’t have the talent level to adapt without a drop off.
I do have to take issue with the idea that either of Demers or Hjalmarsson somehow being the worst starting right side D.
Demers put up surprisingly strong numbers next to OEL (which is impressive due to OEL’s precipitous decline since 2017), and Hjalmarsson is still the best pure shutdown defenceman of his entire generation - Rexypoo
Sbisa was not bad at all. The guy skates/hits/fights better then most of the Jets D. He has a cannon from the point, eats pucks on the pk, and for that price tag, is a great player to have on the roster.
What's you issue with big and physical hockey players? Enstrom's and Dano's aren't enough to turn a club around. |

See Dave Lowry named assistant coach of Jets. Should be good hire. |

Sbisa was brutal. His numbers were brutal. He was also a penalty generator.
To answer your OEL point, not. He’s been struggling for a while. Thats a toxic contract.
Hjalmarsson probably is in decline by now, but at the rate it’s happening, he’s still our best defensive player at 38. He’s also played on his offside almost his entire career. Some guys can do it. Miro Heiskanen chiefly among them - Rexypoo
Sbisa was on pace to put up more points then your boy Lowry, a #6/7/8 dman that's more productive then the ice tilting Adam Lowry.. 😂
Hjalmarsson is a beast, wish Chevy would of used his Hawks connection to convince him to come to Winnipeg! |

By all accounts, Dave is an A+ person and coach. No issues there, so long as it doesn't force any absurd Adam Lowry extension. He's overpaid now, and better prepare for a pay cut if he wants to be a Jet after this season. I'm on board with Dave tho! |

Everything we’ve seen out of Sbisa for his entire career, be it his numbers or actually seeing him on the ice, has screamed “AHL” |

I don’t think I like the Dave Lowry hire.
He didn’t do much for LA, and that 2016 WJC team gives me Vietnam flashbacks |

Your reasons always lack merit so why would I ever include them

What makes you think this is a good move? Bombing out of the world juniors? Or being let go by the Kings? That’s what got Kompon hired, but at least he’s got rings.
This just proves that Chevy has no control |

The David Lowry hire guarantees that Adam Lowry will get a 6 year 21 million dollar contract like his buddy Brandon Tanev.

Jetsnation and Rexypoo, two peas in a pod. I swear it’s the same person having a public dialogue with himself. |

I was thinking the same thing today after I heard about the hiring of old man Lowry. |

Lowry will become the first 4th/5th liner to spend his entire career with the same team. |

Really? Because the Sbisa I see is 6'3, finishes every check hard, drops the mitts anytime, and may be the best skater on the back end. Pionk is more agile in tight, but flat out speed, Sbisa is probably the fastest guy back there. Plus, his season with the knights saw him notch nearly 0.5ppg as a 3rd pairing D...... None of that screams AHL to me, but who cares, Chevy/Maurice clearly agree that the guy is an NHL D. |

Haha as long as he is willing to accept his role, and be a wiener to play against, I am fine with that. If he thinks he's a top 6 guy, he'd better pack his bags. He's a tower of power and nothing else. |

So, his skills are: does big hit a lot (bad sign, means he never has the puck), will fight (okay?), and had one fluke season with a Vegas team that quickly ditched him (Eakin 1.0).
As for the skating observation... Sbisa being faster than Pionk and Morrissey is the most absurd and hilarious hill to die on since “Wilson is the villain in Cast Away” |
