I wouldn't know cus I'm clearly not that poster - I don't agree with everything the team does, or defend their every move. I criticize and/or applaud depending on the situation. Solid generalization tho!

Then everything is fine, we'll see how that unfolds.

Personally I think our season rides on Holtby coming back a bit to form and Demko taking a step forward. Our forward group is better in the sense that EP and co are a year further along, and should be better this year than last. Our defense is the same in that Hughes should be better this year than last, and upgrading from Tanev to Schmidt makes us better. Juolevi I think has an 80% chance to be better this year than Stetcher was for us last year.

We can mentally masturbate this issue until the cows come home. Lets see how this unfolds. I'm not drinking the Kool Aid yet with this team as it stands today.

Maybe some scouts should re-educate themselves on today's game.

Because the Canucks relied so heavily on goaltending, even a slight fall-back with Demko & Holtby will result in the team sliding a bit. We upgraded with Schmidt over Tanev but that won’t really matter if the goaltending isn’t there.

The caveat is, if Green can somehow implement a defensive structure in their systems play.

Thats the biggest thing IMO. Will the young guys like Petey, Bo, Boeser, Hughes, Demko, Virtanen, Gaudette, MacEwen, Lind, OJ, Rathbone take steps forward and essentially replace what Marky, Tanev and Toffoli did?

With the young guys all taking a step forward, you should also consider that the old guys will also take a step backwards. To me a step forward would have been keeping Taney AND adding Schmidt. Holtby has lost his job three times in the past two years, I’m not confident he will recapture cup winning form.

People are just ignorant everywhere, don’t kid yourself, here in BC some people are acting like it’s over and travelling all over the place spreading it around. Plus there’s a reason Manitoba is gone into full lockdown again, there’s just dumb asses everywhere!

i'm surprised how little play this is getting. marky has been really good the last couple of years. plus, we saw what happened when he was out with injury.

can demko/holtby sustain that level? they have the ability to do so as a tandem but it's far from given. they'll need that solid goaltending from the start as well if the season is condensed making each game even more important.

team defense is also plays into things (shots on net especially) but i think the season (playoffs) comes down to how the goalies are playing more than how the d goes (though they're intertwined for sure.)

That kids an idiot, however, imo him and the rest of the naysayers are forgetting TT only played from the trade deadline on in the top six. That said, there’s a reason they went out and got another top six forward, because they needed one, and they still do.

At the end of the day you’re most likely going to see another bubble team trying to make the playoffs.
