Can't believe they are redoing Planes, Trains and Automobiles. People should be sent to prison for that.

The movie industry is now pretty much split into two categories:

1) Comic book movies

2) Remakes/sequels/prequels/etc...

I think it's worth calling out a sub-class of losers who have to return to the character that made them "famous" 35 years ago.
I'm looking at you Cobra Kai!/Fuller House!

What are they going to bring back John Candy from the grave? How do you remake a movie like that

I just watched that Guy Ritchie movie The Gentleman over the weekend. Not sure if that was a remake or based on a book or something, thought it was original. Was a solid movie

I mean obviously not literally every movie is a remake or comic book movie, but it just feels like 85% of what's out there is one of those two things

ah one of those types of remakes where they try to seem inclusive instead of just making an original movie that stars women/people of color. got it.

They didn't learn anything from Ghostbusters. The funny thing is Kevin Hart is (frank)ing hilarious and Will Smith has done some great movies. I'm sure someone could have did a script for something original with those 2.

Damn Chiefs beat me to it

The best part of Planes, Trains and Automobiles though is John Candy and Steve Martin weren't overly trying to be funny. It just worked cause they are clumsy and awkward at times. This new one I feel they will go over the top trying to be funny, just ruins everything

Yup, especially for Steve Martin. He had to play the uptight straight laced character. I mean almost all his movies he is the goofy funny dude.

There's an entire website devoted to cats that look that like that particular sack of human feces
