The deal they signed with the NHL for national broadcasting was a bad one, but I think what hurt them most was losing the local Habs games to RDS. I think they were sure they would get all the games.

No even with the NHL. They had to pay Rogers $120 million. Of course, Dave Morrisette thought Rogers was paying TVA that amount, for some odd reason.

from a fans' perspective I always found this deal to be so (frank)ing dumb. there's just no way of watching all the habs games in French without having both TVA Sports and RDS.

I only have RDS in my package, and honestly, I would dump it too if I could find something good to replace it with. very very difficult to do. so much garbagge.
