Do they, all the things I see always talking about how great everything is with them. Maybe they filter it for us Manitoban's.

I mean they make it sounds like Spezza and Thornton were going to make the Leafs win a playoff series.

Are you talking about the Canucks? Technically they won 2 rounds.

They are far from competing with the best. Good parts, a solid base but still missing the middle pieces.

I'm just wondering at what point do you think Dubas will figure out that not only are the defenders supposed to play defence but some of the forwards might as well. Team defence. Marner is very underrated in this matter. Dubas got rid of the only forward who knew how to defend for a defender who had no idea how to defend. I mean easier for Canucks now that Barrie has joined the division.

Kadri was actually pretty crappy defensively. And Kerfoot will be known as better than Kadri withina year.

Your GM has to learn to not have a spending spree on average UFAs

In a normal season maybe but this wasn't normal, so they counted it as two.

Dubas did well in his return for Kapanen but I mean you can't talk about "my" GM putting the team in cap hell. He didn't have to trade away Johansson for some player that can't play regularly for one of the worst teams in the league.

They tried after the 2012 election. They had all these diversity outreach plans and then they got Trumped in ‘16.

Don Jr and his girlfriend are taking control of key party positions now and everyone is still afraid of Big Orange. I actually think the Republican Party is finished. They either get completely co-opted by Trump long term or they move away from him and he sets up his own “Reform Trump” party and the Republicans are stuck between.

Sad.

Reports of the death of the GOP are misguided.

With the worst president in US history, they still came damn close to re-election. They still control the Senate and they picked up seats in the house.

It's not counted as 2 at all. If Leafs won no one would be counting that against Columbus as a real win..

Actually, Anderson was picked higher than Jonsson in the draft and thus far is a better prospect at the same age. Saying he couldn't crack Jersey is a pretty stupid comment given the stage he's at in his career. Jonsson himself made his nHl debut at 23.

Dubas has also prepared for thsi move by beating many other Gms to signing Mikeyev and drafting Robertson.

While Trump is the worst Prez ever, he did have incredible charisma and connected with his base unlike any other Republican Prez ever

So it's okay to make poor trades because he can't figure out the cap?

Leafs didn't win though.

Because have a horrible mix of players.

Let's wait and see if it's a porr trade. Again, Anderson is looking better than Jonssona at the same age.

Looks to me Benning has a tougher time with the cap.

That’s the thing about demographic change, it’s impacts are felt s l o w l y. Structurally they are in big trouble. Their base is older, rural, uneducated and white. America is becoming younger, unwhite, urban and suburban and educated. That’s the story of Georgia and Arizona. Texas saw a huge increase in youth votes and there’s a gigantic chorot about to turn 18 for 2022. Biden got a gigantic % of the never voted vote.

Trump’s base have been convinced that they have no future in this new America. Certainly, they have real economic complaints but they’ve been sold some bullpoop about them coming for you.

They don’t believe Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz can protect them, only Trump and maybe Don Jr. Republicans can either pick someone who speaks to white grievance and alienates the rest of the country or picks a moderate and sees the Trumpers walk.

Democrats have a chance, if they start to do things to address the real, underlying issues facing these people to make long lasting changes in the makeup of the democratic structure. The real party split will become between what is now the moderate and progressive elements of the Democratic Party, eventually.

Or, they could (frank) up.

Van hasn't had to trade away any .5 PPG NHLers for question marks. I'm looking at the Leafs roster and last year the Leafs were 26th in GAA.

Do you think the team can improve upon that with the trades they made? or players they signed?

This feels eerily similar to Roger calling the end for the Islanders.

Maybe it will be true the 100th time you call it. Until then, I'll remain skeptical about your ability to ascertain the thoughts and feelings of the American population.

Two seats are set for runoff in January before it can be decided, but they most likely will.

At least that's what my admittedly brief interest in the senate race left me believing anyways. 🤷‍♂️

The Republicans hold control of the senate now. There will be run offs in Georgia that could change that. I think the vote is in January (maybe February). Unfortunately, not many Georgians know that.

They will not turn out like they did for the presidential election. In fact, there’s a thing called voter fatigue. I bet they turn out less than average.

I actually decided to let my smoker run too hot and burn my deck down as if it were Vancouver on 6/15/2011.
