10 AAV on a 6 year deal should be the max.

Players taking 13% plus of the cap is creating so many problems for teams.

Whatever he gets is subject to the huge escrow over the next couple years, 10m now is actually under 8m.

Canucks were bottom 5 last season. Before that the Canucks were 14th the two previous years.

Ranked around the 5th best center in the NHL, it's not all points, although he does get those as well.
In a non covid world, increasing cap, etc... on a long term deal I could see it.

We will see based off what Barzal gets, but I don't think GM's will hand any player at 10m+ long term when we don't know how long the flat cap will be.

As much as i like Schmidt, he is a bit of an adventure defensively. I expect more shots against, unless the forwards start playing better defensively.
