They can protect 3 D.

Who do you expose?

The idea was born from you saying they should go 4 and 4, just to protect Myers, that's silly talk, if they get another top 4 RSD, they expose Myers, protect both new guys and OJ, OJ has more trade value and upside then Myers will after this season, considering age and cap hit.

I like Myers and don't want to lose him.

- Pres.cup

Myers fills a big need. His 6m per was a pre-covid contract. Many ppl will see the 6m & not consider much else. I too like Myers.

Are you a Hockey Insider?"😁
- VanHockeyGuy

Hardly 😂

Just an old C & D who expects a lot from these positions including deployment & schemes.

Not Virtanen? As a 20g 40p third line guy?
- Pres.cup

I look at him as middle 6 winger on either side. Temporarily out of my microscope but...

His problem is disappearing & causes much chagrin for any coach. I don’t believe he understands he has to take the initiative & study video & become a student of the game & self motivate 12 months of the year like other pros he has played with. With him it hasn’t rubbed off on him so expect Miller & some others to drag him to it. His ceiling is still very high imo being a top 6 staple. Time is now & next season should be his target to arrive & realize his full potential.

I don’t follow either of HF or Twitter. I might explore HF but twitter is a waste of my time.
- Nighthawk

Twitter is where the widest coverage of Canucks prospects can be found. The sources posted there seem endless. I see what you talk about on here so hardly a waste of time. You dont have to mingle with the morons.

Not one of the so called more ready defenders will ever amount to what Myers provides, maybe Joulevi one day, but hasn’t shown the capacity yet.

Myers was, is a great addition.

- Makita

Hughes, Edler, and Fatty all showed better defensive stats beside Myers last season. I posted a link showing this just a few days ago.

He's not pretty to watch but he's way more effective than many people think.

I went for it.

Both of my daughters just farted like 5 times each while eating "bed lunch"

My 6 year old ate to much.... I need to fart, but I think I should poop first, he just said.

Is this the article you posted?

Have you seen this one posted back in June?

https://canucksarmy.com/2...ce-pairing-of-the-season/

The pairs seemed to be much different after the break.

Oh and both articles stat that Myers and Fatty were an abomination. Plus the first link says that if Myers isn't playing with a top 4 D he isn't a top 4 D. Just like in Wpg.

That happens with offensive minded/Norris Dmen like Hughes. Without Tanev our shots against will drop especially with Schmidt replacing him. Markstrom saved our ass many night but by moving on from Tanev/Stecher back there will only improve us.
- LordHumungous

Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to be the case. I’ve got no problem with them letting Tanev walk considering the contract he got, but the guy blocks shots like crazy and has his own zone locked down. Schmidt is a hell of a replacement but we’re also probably going to have at least one rookie on the backend, maybe more, and Hughes is only in his second year. Unless the forwards back check more consistently I imagine shots against will be up next year and they were already high.

Well...I spent the afternoon with an old buddy who served in the Canadian Navy for forty years, a great afternoon of me listening to his stories. Back in the day those guys made just over a dollar a day. Crazy!

To all those who serve....thank you for your service

We were consistently bottom 5 in the league in shots allowed with Tanev and Stecher dressed for the majority of those games. No where to go but up.

You are better than this Lord Humus.

Canucks were bottom 5 last season. Before that the Canucks were 14th the two previous years.

Still a team in transition.

The whole rush up the ice and shot the puck as fast as possible doesn't work. OR the 50% dump in method.

I like Tanev, but am fine with moving on. As I said 2 or 3 years ago, I dont expect to see most of the players(from back then) still on the roster, in 3-4 years.

Saying that, your comment suggests because they were dressed the majority of those games, that they were bleeding shots, yet last season, Bo, Elias,Miller, Hughes etc were also dressed for a majority of those games, maybe they need to be changed as well.

Saw I think it was on Sportsnet 650 the other day that they were talking about Petey's next contract being 10-13M per season.

10 AAV on a 6 year deal should be the max.

Players taking 13% plus of the cap is creating so many problems for teams.

I'm sure JB and his cap guru have a solid plan in place
